Had the opportunity to stay here and although the room was smallish (though bigger than many city hotel rooms I've seen) everything was first class. The sleek room just felt luxe to it's core. The bathroom was generously sized with full tub, glassed in shower, nice size and height sink, heated floors and heated towel rack. Truly comfortable bed and linens completed the package. Requests were filled promptly by the friendly staff. Ate breakfast here and every morsel was delicious. Loved seeing a peek of the river while we dined. Would have liked time to sit and have a drink at the American Bar, but just didn't have the time. Also loved the location of this hotel.

The Savoy came highly recommended by our travel agent but I did a lot of research on my own to familiarize myself with some of the best hotels in London. I wanted to visit London because of my fascination with the history and realized The Savoy is iconic with its own rather long and interesting history. In fact, they actually have their own historian and their own charming little museum. That alone intrigued me but I’ve known too many places that have ridden on their past good name but don’t always live up to the hype once you get there. For one thing, I have gotten very fussy about service. I am happy to say that The Savoy did not disappoint – it is in a league of its own in every way possible. The hotel atmosphere itself is elegant, a magnificent old world sort of glamor as opposed to the glitz to be found in some newer hotels. It’s just beautiful. (and kept spotlessly clean) The beds were comfy and the water pressure in the bathrooms was good. (don’t laugh….when you stay for more than a weekend you really start to notice if they aren’t, no matter how nice a place may be in other ways) The Le Labo toiletries never ran out and even the towel rack was heated. It’s also in a terrific area that makes it easy to get to many good restaurants and sights. The food is definitely worth mentioning. We had breakfast in the Thames Foyer daily and also tried both Kaspar’s and The Savoy Grill (and I will write separate reviews when I get a chance) and it was all delightful. But what REALLY made The Savoy stand out was the stellar service from EVERYONE there. Jayne Wilkinson of Guest Relations was especially helpful in providing me with information and making arrangements even before we arrived but it did not stop there. Every single staff member I met made us feel that I could not possibly have chosen a better place to stay. Special thanks to the concierge staff (Dean, Jamie, Michael and one other person whose name I’m sorry I can’t seem to recall at this moment) who went out of their way for every little request I had and who gave me some great suggestions for dining and sightseeing. Everyone in the American and Beaufort Bars and in the restaurants took the time, no matter how busy they were, to remember us and make us feel special when they saw us. It’s especially important to note, since both these bars are very popular even with people not staying at The Savoy, that they make sure Savoy guests always have a place there and aren’t turned away. And this was true whether we were dressed or, as the night when we returned very late from a Stonehenge sunset tour (we got back to the hotel after midnight) and didn’t have time to change but really wanted a drink, we were still dressed in jeans. (That’s not like us, I prefer to dress at night and the atmosphere does call for at least smart casual but it’s good to know that they treat you as if “the guest is always right.”) Either way we were treated royally. From the moment you check in it’s almost as if everyone there is a concierge because there is no doubt that they’re an incredibly well trained staff who will make you happy you chose to stay here. They go beyond being professional and courteous to being charming and friendly as well. No detail is ignored and I simply can’t say enough good things about our stay. It made our anniversary week extra special. I’d love to return and I will certainly recommend it.

What can you say but fantastic nights stay. This is my best hotel I have stayed in anywhere in the world. We stayed all day starting with the afternoon tea, which is a great way to to spend the afternoon. We then made our way to the bar for a couple of bottles of champer's. Well done to all the staff who can be assured they are 5 star plus.

Took my parents here for a drink after our visit to the Savoy theatre next door. There were no tables available when we arrived, but staff happily arranged seats for us at the bar. It was a wonderful experience for my parents to sit among such opulence. Drinks were expensive, but we had a great time watching the barmen putting together a wonderful selection of cocktails for other guests and even though they were busy, the bar staff were chatting happily to us and answering our questions regarding the various drinks. We could hear the pianist in the other room performing for those having afternoon tea and the whole ambiance was wonderful. A lovely treat and everyone was so glad we took the opportunity to go in seeing as we'd only been next door at the theatre.

I really couldn't recommend this place enough. We had the afternoon tea experience and everything about it was first class. Our server Jeet was so friendly and attentive throughout our afternoon. Well worth the visit!
