I came to The Savoy for the first time in 2013 with my mother for a girls-weekend and we instantly fell in love with the place, the atmosphere and the people. Since then I've been back one with my mother and my husband, since he had never been to Londen before and what better place to stay then right here! And then we came back 2 more times just me and my husband and every time the staff at the hotel makes us feel so welcome, some of them even recognize us and welcome us like we're family. We just booked another long weekend the end of april and then again in july for my brothers surprise bachelorweekend. There isn't a single bad thing we can say about this hotel, it's staff, the conciërge (which has helped us greatly several times of getting excellent seats for some great shows), Kaspar's (yummy seafood), the American Bar (great for pre-show drinks), The Savoy Grill and last but not least The Thames Foyer, where we have afternoon tea every time we are there!

I always enjoy the Savoy and quality of service there. Because I travel on business, I tend to get the rooms with no view but the comfort of the beds is always superb so makes up for that. I also enjoy the old world charm. One of the reasons I pick the Savoy when traveling on business is the Fairmont Presidents club amenities. One of them is having clean sports clothes and shoes provided in the room. My profile clearly states I am a woman so surprised when they brought men’s clothes. The reservation was in my name naturally. It then took them over an hour to locate my size and I ran out of time to work out. :( The bars are a little tired also. Would love to have a bit of a sharper vibe there. I had a drink alone at the one with the Piano and it just didn’t have the clean and sharp look of the more modern hotels. All the bars are super dark which I assume is by design but would have loved to have more of “less shady” option.

To clarify this review is about the room I was in on Mar 15-17, 2018. The renovations were nice EXCEPT the worst design bathtub/shower combo I've ever seen. A half glass wall hinged to open (nice idea in theory) with a very large rainfall shower head - not a good combination. Can't turn on the water more than halfway as the glass wall does not contain the water (and unless you want to flood the bathroom). For the amount I spend a night (north of 600 pounds) I do not expect this kind of half baked solution. Lots of other better hotels to stay at in this price range. Service and food were nice but the poor design of the room is enough to turn me off. Usually stay at the Cafe Royal on Regent, which in my opinion is far better value for the money, and I'm a Fairmont's Premier and past Platinum club member.

After the best hotel experience of my life at the Savoy in May, I simply had to go back. I would never stay at another hotel for my bi-yearly holidays in London. This experience was somehow even better than my last one. We were graciously greeted and taken to our sublime rooms. They didn't have our suite available so instead they gave us two larger connecting rooms which were even lovelier than the suite we had on our last visit. As before the rooms were immaculate, spacious and superbly appointed. I've never slept in a more comfortable, luxurious bed. The daily breakfasts at Kaspar's were perfect and of course, the Thames Foyer serves the best and most elegant tea in London. Even if you aren't staying at the Savoy, the tea here is not to be missed! I have to add that the location couldn't possibly be more perfect. You are next to and across the street from some of London's best theaters. I had the pleasure of seeing Jennifer Saunders' performance of Lady Windermere's fan at the Vaudville Theater which is within walking distance. Ultimately, aside from the beauty of the hotel, what keeps me returning is the impeccable customer service; one truly feels welcomed at this legendary establishment. I'd like to thank everyone at the Savoy for yet another memorable stay and look forward to returning soon. Roxana Russo

A visit for Afternoon Tea to celebrate mums 80th birthday. They made her feel extra special and could not have been more accommodating, it was truly a fabulous afternoon. One of my daughters is also vegan which sometimes can prove a little difficult but not at the Savoy her Afternoon Tea was just as good as ours, in fact we said next time we would all go vegan... again thank you to all the staff that made this a wonderful experience for both my mum and the rest of the family
