This is a nicely-appointed hotel that is close to the Underground. I do have some concerns that reduced its rating: Our bathroom's light switch was outside the bathroom, which meant that anytime someone wanted to use the bathroom in the middle of the night the light lit up the bedroom as well. I attempted to mitigate this problem by wearing the eye mask I had brought, but alas it was misplaced by the housekeepers and never recovered. The room had very few outlets and there was no convenient way to dry one's hair. The shower is only a "rain shower", which is frustrating if you do not wish to wet one's hair every day. (And, yes there was a cheap shower cap.) The decorations on the hallway on the third floor were pages from The Merchant of Venice, including antisemitic references to "The Jew" (i.e. Shylock). The thermostat had a broken touch screen. We had breakfast one day and ordered off the menu (instead of taking the buffet). Our order was forgotten and we had to flag down the waiter to find our order. I appreciate that they reduced our bill by 20%, but it shouldn't take 30 minutes for a custom breakfast. I still give the hotel 4 stars as our mini-suite was large, the staff was nice, and the hotel is well-decorated (although they could have chosen a different Shakespeare play). That said, I'll choose another hotel at this price point the next time I'm in London.

First, the entrance to this historic hotel even looks better than the photo. The "lobby" is breathtaking, reminiscent of mansion-hotels from long ago. But the room we had is modern, great bed and sitting area with a nice view of the courtyard. The bar and restaurant are terrific, with a lively energy especially in the bar. The venue has historic ties to spying and the spy services, and there are homages and real relics of their past throughout the property. The staff is first class...we used room service often and were never disappointed. The concierge, Frank Nzobonimana (oh I hope I got that spelling right Frank), is superb, as is the bell staff, and I wish I knew their names. Great location in Westminster, walk to Buckingham Palace. We loved it.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at St. Ermin’s Hotel, Autograph Collection during our trip to the UK, and it was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The hotel itself is beautiful—a perfect blend of classic elegance and modern comfort. The moment we walked into the stunning lobby, with its grand staircase and elegant décor, we felt like we had stepped into a piece of London history. Our room was spotless, tastefully decorated, and offered all the amenities we could have hoped for. The location couldn’t have been better. Nestled just a short walk from Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, and St. James’s Park, it made exploring the city incredibly easy. Despite being so central, the hotel still felt peaceful and tucked away—a true London gem. What really made our stay exceptional was the outstanding service. Every member of the staff was warm, professional, and eager to make sure we had everything we needed. From the friendly front desk team to the attentive concierge, we felt genuinely cared for throughout our stay. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend St. Ermin’s Hotel to anyone visiting London. It’s a place where luxury, comfort, and hospitality come together perfectly.
