3/5 – Great location, but a disappointing experience overall We recently stayed at St. Ermin’s Hotel as a family with two young children. While the hotel has a fantastic location, just a short walk from Westminster and many of London’s main attractions, we left feeling a little disappointed overall. On arrival, as Marriott Gold members, we were delighted to be told we’d been upgraded to a suite. Unfortunately, we were then informed that the suite was no longer available. We completely understand that things can happen, but having the upgrade offered and then taken away was really disappointing and set the tone for the stay. We also had dinner booked for 5pm, which we’d planned around our two young children. Shortly beforehand, we received a call to say the restaurant couldn’t open until 6pm due to operational issues. We were invited to wait in the bar and told we’d receive a welcome drink while we waited, but this never materialised. Breakfast was another challenge. We arrived at around 8:15am on Sunday morning and still had to wait around 20 minutes for a table. Once seated, the breakfast itself was good, but the experience felt very busy and disorganised. There are definitely positives. The hotel is beautiful, the location is excellent, and it’s a great base for exploring central London. However, the series of small disappointments meant the stay didn’t quite live up to our expectations, particularly for a Marriott property. With a little more attention to communication and guest experience, it could have been much better.

The hotel was fabulous; Great location and very comfortable. The breakfast was very good with one notable exception…the croissants always seemed a day old. The staff was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable. I’ve experienced this several times in other hotels…the shower didn’t drain well. It would be nice if that could be fixed. We will be back to St Ermins. London is a wonderful place and requires numerous visits.

Perhaps the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. The breakfast (included in our rate) was fantastic, and the service was friendly and accommodating. There is a terrace overlooking the courtyard where we had a pre-dinner drink 2 of the 4 nights we were there. Very clean room and bathroom that were either fairly new or very well-maintained. The location was also great - down the street from Westminster/Big Ben etc and less than 2 blocks from the St. James tube stop.

Just wanted to give my thanks to everyone here at this hotel, especially Amit and Gary, the concierges. They went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure that a suitcase that was supposed to have been picked up by FedEx got delivered to them and finally was able to make it back home to us!! It was a very stressful situation and they really helped us so much. In addition, the hotel is BEAUTIFUL and all of the staff were lovely and so helpful. Wish we were there more than 2 nights!
