Pleasant Surprise

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 11 hours ago

The Location & food is great. Service is excellent! Every team member went above and beyond. We were assigned junior suite 358 which had 3 nice windows. Junior suites vary in size ranging from 355sq. ft. to 452sq. ft. I was told ours was in the mid range. It worked out perfect for the 2 of us. We used the sitting room every night to unwind. It has a fold out couch and technically can accommodate 3 people. 3 people would be tight if 3rd person over 8 or 9 years old. If traveling with children I would request one of the rooms ending in 44, so 344, 444, 544 or a family suite. Looking forward to returning to St. Ermins & exploring other properties in Marriot's Autograph Collection.

Great hotel- fabulous breakfast!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 14 hours ago

Wonderful hotel in a great location, with attentive staff. 5 of us stayed in a family room - unusual in London - which suited us perfectly. We all loved seeing the bee garden on the 3rd floor and the fact the beekeeper was actually there interacting with the children, made it even more memorable. And then there was the breakfast… OMG they’ve thought of everything you could possible wish for at this fabulous buffet. We all agreed this was our new favourite hotel in London

A great stay and location

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at St. Ermin's. The staff were extremely helpful including when we had to replace a damaged luggage piece. The terrace was a nice spot to relax after a day of touring. Meals were first rate. We would definitely stay again - in fact my wife is insisting on it!

2 minute walk to St. James Park tube (subway) station which means you have easy access all over London!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 20 hours ago

The location of StErmin has easy access to the St. James Park tube (subway) station which means you have easy access all over London. If you use ApplePay, click and tap thru the turnstiles is a snap! Lots of food available nearby—from grab-and-go to sit down restaurants, we tried many of them and always had great food (our lunch fave was grabbing sandwiches at Pret, and we enjoyed meat pies at the nearby Feathers pub). Views from the hotel are not very interesting (courtyard just faces the entry garden drop off area), so don’t pay for the view. It is in a city…an old city…so as usual it is of other buildings. But all the more reason to spend your time out exploring London! It is in a great part of the city that feels safe (even at night—although note: StJames Park station closes off exits at night so you will need to walk a little further around the station to get back to hotel side of station). Hotel located in Westminster so walkable to Buckingham Palace (only certain days for changing of the guard, we arrived an hour early and there were already TONS of people…standing in sun. bring water and hat!), Big Ben and Westminster Abby the opposite direction. Via St James Park station, direct route to Richmond (lovely parks and river walk…and Ted Lasso locales), Notting Hill (fun street vendors…plus movie locales like Notting Hill and Love Actually), semi direct to Marylebone (lovely street walking and enjoying the archetecture), and Tower of London/Tower Bridge stations. That makes quick half day (when you’ve only got 3 hrs to go) trips sooooo easy! Hotel entry is very glamorous (as pictured) and staff is all very helpful. Rooms cozy (we had two full size beds for 3 adults), bathroom small, large window facing building, and the AC worked like a champ during the heatwave of our visit. Chocolates and waters replaced daily in the tiny “fridge” in room. We expected that, and so we were happy with the room. TV struggled to connect to our AV/ipad cable, but that was on last day and they even sent a maintenance guy to come check it at 9pm…and he was going to go get a tv and replace it that evening (apparently Chromecast wasn’t working on it). But we told him no, as we were leaving the next morning. TV wasn’t that important to us. Room was very quiet (I am sensitive to sound). We were on the 6th floor and opted for a room facing building vs smaller room facing courtyard/entry. We did have a drink one night at the bar on main floor and the bar tenders were attentive and friendly. We also had dinner on the terrace/balcony before a WestEnd show and that wasn’t great. The food, once it arrived 40 minutes later, was fine, but staff was unorganized and seemed to be unfocused. They brought my husbands meal, but not the rest of table’s. We just ordered a few rolls of sushi and drinks…so we didn’t expect it to take so long. People that arrived after us had their food and drinks before us. There was probably more to the story as we had multiple waitstaff coming to table to fill waters etc. We finally had to tell them we needed to leave for the show. But that was the only dark cloud over our stay at the hotel…and reason for 4 stars. Hopefully this will be fixed for the summer tourist season by hotel management and trainings for wait staff.

Excellent hotel. Very close to everything we wanted to do in London, all within walking distance. The hotel was immaculate and staff was extremely friendly. We would stay there again.
