We stayed in the 2-room suite and the amentities are excellent. The location is very convenient to most of the major site seeing places. Walk to the metro takes under 5 mins.

At this point, I no longer know how many times I have stayed at the Town Hall Hotel. Perhaps it is 9 times, perhaps it is 12. My stays have been as short as 3 nights and at other times as long as nearly a full month. I have experienced all four seasons (as much as they are four seasons in London), holidays, and major special event periods at the property. I have stayed during noisy construction (which means it is being renovated for us) and quiet lulls (during down times), and neither has ever pushed me to look for another site to stay. Yes, if you do not have business in East London, it is quite far away from most things. Yes, the property is managed with a subdued luxury (the decor, quality, conditions), as there is no valet or flashiness. Yes, the rooms are all unique as the building is converted town hall, and so the sizes vary but cleanliness will always be the same. Yes, depending on the season it can be pricey but the value has always been the staff, the building, the location (away from the busy), proximity to Victoria Park for the seasonal market and exercise, and an urban neighborhood (seeing everyday people). Brick Lane, Shoreditch, Spitalfields Market, etc. are all a 30 minute walk away. Bethnal Green Station (Central Line) is only a 7 minute walk way (change from Elizabeth Line at Liverpool Street Station). Locations for room needs (juice, produce, health) are all within a 3 minute to 30 minute away. If you travel (being a traveler) instead of touring (being a tourist), this property and its staff are for you.

We booked this hotel due to its proximity to the V&A Museum of Childhood as we were visiting th AArdman exhibition (excellent btw!) We dropped our bags off, knowing that check-in wasn't until later and completed the check-in process and left to visit the exhibition and the West End. On returning, we collected our bag and made our way to the room. The conversion from a beautiful 30's building into a hotel is excellent and the retention of original features, floorings and some fixtures is really impressive. Our room had all we could have hoped for including a small kitchen with UHT milk in the fridge. As they provided a fridge, why no fresh milk? Tea bags and milk were minimal, providing no more than one cup each, but extra were available on request (bit mean). No biscuits or mini bar but not a problem. Decor was modern and comfortable – all good. The main niggle for us was the lack of customer care. Service was perfunctory and lacking in warmth, compared to many other similar properties. Far from going the extra yard, they barely went the extra foot. With this in mind, we were surprised that on check-out we were asked whether we would like to donate a voluntary £12 for the staff! Is this normal nowadays in the UK? The room was immaculate and I always endeavour to leave a cash tip for the room attendants, but in all honesty W the actual F? Maybe they should pay the staff properly in the first place. Great hotel; fantastic conversion of a beautiful building, but not somewhere we would return.

Hotel is beautifully restored and the room was excellent. Staff was always above and beyond helpful. The location was great with the underground station and bus stops just around the corner. Loved our stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who asks.
