There is a vivid image of old world Mexico that is found within the confines of La Mision, a newly-built resort with vintage sensibilities. Located in the mission town of Loreto, a historic city tucked between the mountains and the Sea of Cortez, this intimate retreat lives up to its namesake by delivering a style of architecture that is undeniably one of sacred beauty. Beneath its roof are is a choice of 68 stunning accommodations, including lovely rooms and sprawling two-bedroom suites all boasting a hacienda-chic ambiance with protected terraces or patios, cool marble baths, and modern amenities that complement rather than collide with the authentic surroundings.

We absolutely fell in love with La Mision Loreto Hotel from the moment we arrived. My husband and I stayed in a luxury ocean view room overlooking the pool and the Sea of Cortez, and the view alone was worth the trip. The hotel is beautiful, relaxing, and perfectly located. What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. Our breakfast team, Polo, Nelson, Medelia, and Osvaldo, were absolutely top-notch. They were attentive, responsive, and consistently went above and beyond to make every morning enjoyable. The pool bar staff were also fantastic, and the bartender there made me the most amazing margarita every single day. Before our trip, I had read reviews mentioning road noise, and honestly, while there is some traffic noise since the hotel sits near the road, we did not find it overwhelming or disruptive at all. The only real drawback during our stay was the early morning noise beginning around 5:30–6:00 a.m. We heard a lot of furniture dragging, footsteps, and general activity each morning. We eventually realized it seemed to be coming from the restaurant kitchen area. It wasn’t enough to ruin our experience, but it’s something future guests should be aware of if they are light sleepers. Overall, our stay was truly amazing, and we are already planning our next visit to Loreto and La Mision Loreto Hotel.

We reserved and paid deposits for five rooms at La Mision Hotel in Loreto, Mexico, and cancelled the reservations a month before our intended travel date— well within the hotel’s stated cancellation policy. We also purchased the additional insurance for the bookings. Despite this, we still have not received our refund. We have now contacted the hotel FOUR separate times (March 18, March 28, April 2, and April 6) requesting the return of our deposit and have received little to no meaningful response or resolution. At this point, we are extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and follow-through. Travelers should be aware that even when cancelling within the policy guidelines, getting your deposit returned may become a frustrating and drawn-out process. Despite being assured multiple times that our deposits would be refunded, we have still not received them. We strongly recommend future guests use caution when booking and paying deposits here until this issue is resolved.

If you have the opportunity, stay here! An absolutely amazing place where the guest services are amazing and the rooms are wonderful. Marcel at check in and Martin in the restaurant made everything extremely worthwhile. The food was fantastic both in the restaurant and the patio by the pool The rooms were amazing and the extra touches were well worth the price. Where else can you find a resort style hotel with fishing and pet friendly! Our rooms overlooking the sea at sunrise was worth it. We will definitely be back!

The rooms are beautiful and the beds are really comfortable. We had an ocean view with a large patio outdoors with two chairs. It was quite comfortable to sit outside and watch all the and the occasional kayak trip or a larger cruise ship go by in the water. We were on the 3rd floor and even with the patio door shut we could hear music coming from the bar on the ground floor. Some of the events on the ground floor had live music and some were playing background music. The restaurant had a great menu for lunch and, and they also had a buffet for breakfast and lunch. This is probably one of the most expensive places to stay and eat in Loreto but you can be sure that the food is high quality and all the people who work at this hotel are great. We were delighted to find that the ground level coffee shop has Starbucks drinks from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

The hotel is in the greatest location! Close to everything. It’s clean, with a very lovely staff. The pool is great too!
