A beautiful property (in need of updating as it's looking a bit "tired") which is let down by the outrageous overcharging for such mundane items as breakfast. They simply don't understand that however much money you have, one doesn't like being ripped off. Examples are a $22 (plus tax & gratuity) plate of fruit or a $10+ bowl of Granola not to speak of the $7 tin of Coke in the room's mini bar. So, on top of the $1000++ for a lovely room, you can count on at least $100 breakfast for two. Another example is their constant lobbying for you to sign up for the "premium" wifi service. Shame really.

Was here for 4 nights, with a few friends, and quite simply it's the best hotel I've stayed at. Loved every moment here. Chilling by the pool was pure bliss, it has such a retro feel to it, in fact the entire property is steeped in history. Yet it is so cool and contemporary. My room was one of the little house-style ones off the courtyard, so cute. I adored my en-suite bathroom, perfection. The breakfasts were legendary, even the humble Club sandwich was a masterpiece. There is something magical about the Hotel Bel-Air, its setting alone, up in the hills, lends an ethereal feel to the property. But moreover you feel totally at peace, such is the calming atmosphere of the place. It's what dreams are made of.

We had an awesome time staying at HBA, one of our favorite hotels anywhere. From check in to check out, service was five star plus. No detail was missed and one feel pampered and valued every moment. Our suite was excellent and top quality bedding and furnishings, nothing to be improved. All staff members are well trained with high attention to detail. Although HBA is expensive, it is money well spent. It is an oasis away from the ‚Äúcity‚ÄĚ...... We would love to be back!

Food outstanding. Bathroom outstanding with a nice tub. Service excellent and quick. Classical historic ambiance and a beautiful garden. Beautiful surroundings. Would definitely recommend it and come back... 10/10.

My husband and I have stayed here 13 times for a staycation and each stay is as special as the 1st. Owned by Dorchester Collection, also own Plaza Athenee, Le Meurice both in Paris, and Beverly Hills Hotel that we've stayed at. HBA is an oasis in the middle of LA, it's as elegant and glamorous as you imagine, and the staff is beyond accommodating, sweet and genuine. Each person working here loves being here as much as we do! The food is divine, all by Chef Hugo and his team under Wolfgang Puck. Don't skip the spa! Best steam room (ever) and massage and nail treatments. I refer to HBA as our second home, in all seriousness! Love being a regular, they won us over after the remodel and highly recommended staying here. If you're more into the LA see and be seen scene, stay at Beverly Hills Hotel - fabulous place, food, pool, staff! We just like being under the radar at HBA :)
