The Redbury was a very interesting place. At first glance, it is dark and very red, especially the hallways leading to your room. The check in is on the 2nd floor, which is interesting, as one would expect it on the first floor. We had breakfast 3 days of our 5 day trip, and enjoyed it, They had all you could eat chaurterie spread, plus omelets that were very good ($16 a person). The music from the hotel roof top bar was loud only the 1st night, but finally cut off at 11am. The room was very cute, with a kitchen and sitting area. The furnishings were dated, and again dark. The best part was the bartender/ barista/ waitress, who was so cute and talkative. Really made us laugh. We stayed here to be close to our daughter's apartment, and enjoyed doing wedding planning activities. I understand the hotel is being sold and renovated this summer. Hopefully will have a fresh, bright updated appearance next year, when we come back for our daughter's wedding.

Hotel cancelled our reservation as it will close in a few weeks. The hotel does not reply to any email and has not refunded the prepayment for the room. Never seen such an unprofessional behavior from any hotel around the world.

Retro-posh & plush rooms, take you on a delightful journey. Vinyl records & player, rain showers with tastefully designed interiors & the location (bang opposite the legendary Capital Records building) make this an ideal setting for an editorial shoot & interview of rockstars.

In many regards, we liked the location, the room, the decor, and the staff. We were told at check-in that our room on the fourth floor would have noise related to the club, told how to activate the door to help dampen the base. Well, the club noise wasn't TOO bad, but after closing there was constant loud, multiple person conversations heard until 0430! Oh, and to start our stay we ordered from the 24 hour room service late afternoon. Two calls and >60 minutes later, our paninis and fries were delivered. I guess I should have upgraded to express delivery.

We needed a place to rest our heads after a show at the Pantages rather than drive to San Diego late at night. The Redbury more than fit the bill. Easy to reach, friendly valet, and upgraded to a Sunset suite on check in really started our stay on the right foot. Our suite was so comfy and roomy. The turntable and albums a treat. All the staff we encountered were friendly and engaging. Loved our dinner at Cleo's on the ground floor and after show cocktails in the lounge. It's really a shame they are closing soon. I could see us returning again and again. If you're in the area -hurry before it's gone.
