Fess Parker Wine Country Inn in Los Olivos, California

Fess Parker Wine Country Inn & Spa – a Preferred Boutique property, part of the Preferred Hotel Group – started as the vision of a Hollywood actor whose characters loved the wilderness: Fess Parker was better known as Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone on television in the 1950s and ’60s. When he set out to buy a vineyard in Santa Barbara wine country, it quickly became a family affair. Now his son Eli and granddaughter Tessa Marie have vineyards on more than 700 acres of land, and guests staying at the inn enjoy prime access to this fertile section of California countryside.

Saddle up for a private horseback ride through Fess Parker’s ranch and vineyards. After your ride, enjoy a cold glass of Chardonnay and a gourmet, organic picnic lunch served in a beautifully restored rustic barn. Meander through the quaint town of Los Olivos, stopping to browse local art galleries. Dine on grilled swordfish in latholemono sauce.

Stunning, large room. Courteous staff who went out of their way to help us locate a long-lost friend who lived in the area. Delicious breakfast with lox and fixings. We used the coupon for a tasting at Fess Parker Winery, which is added yet another plus to an already wonderful stay. Restaurant under construction, but plan to dine there on our next visit. Perfect location for wine tasting in town and in the region. Los Olivos is a charming town. Close to Solvang.

From the moment we pulled up to the front of the Inn, we were quickly immersed in a world of tranquility and service. We had adjoining rooms with our two daughters and both rooms were delightful, spacious and beautifully furnished. The entire staff is gracious and accommodating virtually anticipating every need. The new Bear and Star restaurant for breakfast was delicious with menu choices to satisfy everyone . Most, if not all of the food comes from the Fess Parker ranches. The Inn is located in the heart of the charming Los Olivos right across from the Wine Merchant Cafe restaurant where scenes from Sideways were filmed.( Karen a long time staple at the restaurant provided us with some excellent information about the area as well). There are tasting rooms galore in Los Olivos and tastings at all the Fess Parker wineries are complimentary. We were scheduled to stay two nights but we were able to extend it another night because we all loved it. The pool is just across from the Inn where they have suites if you prefer to be closer to the pool. The fireplace in the room is just a click away for cooler nights or just charming atmosphere. I have been fortunate enough to stay in some very nice accommodations over time and I would put this Inn right there with any of them. We are making reservations again next year for an even longer stay.If you are into wines the area has some great Pinot Noirs and Rhone varietals that are ideal for the cooler growing climate. You can also bring any of the wines you may buy to most if not all the local restaurants for a reasonable corkage fee. We all can't wait to go back.

Top hotel! The rooms were spacious with a fireplace and complimentary bottle of Fess Parker wine. The infinity swimming pool was captivating to watch the stars at night and eat breakfast by in the morning. Fell in love with Los Olivos as well.

My wife and I stayed at Fess Parker's for two nights and we could not have been happier with the condition of the resort and the excellent service we received from the staff. The location is great too since it is an easy stroll through the quaint town of Los Olivos. We used all of the the coupons to the various wineries affiliated with Fess Parker and that was a good deal too! We will definitely be returning to Fess Parker.

What a beautiful and quite find, off the beaten path. Large and comfortable room. It was super clean and beautifully furnished. The bed was so soft. The breakfast had my favorite morning dish, lox and bagels. I would stay here again.
