What a wonderful haven this hotel was for us! Charming quiet room down past the spa area - loved the mosquito netting on the beds and outdoor sofa lounge area. We also loved the warm beautiful dark wood used in the room. And in the dining area of the hotel. The scale of the hotel is nice. Not too large. You feel so welcomed when you arrive and each day. Very helpful team will assist with waterfall tours, Mekong river evening boat trips and any taxis and rides. Breakfast was just wonderful. With super strong great coffee and a mix of cultures in all the food. Don’t miss the special coconut pancakes made to order with the special mold. All special and ideal. We would stay here again happily.

I stayed at La Residence Phou Vao hotel for 4 nights recently and this hotel is delightful and deserving of a 5+ star rating. The property is beautiful, the food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is outstanding, the rooms and pool lovely, and the service is truly exceptional. The staff are so kind and friendly and they think of your every need during the stay - from ice water as soon as you arrive at the pool, to reconfirming dinner reservations off-property without asking, to leaving thoughtful treats in the room every evening; the staff are always 10 steps ahead of what you might want and need. I also used the spa services and no exception here - spa rooms are beautiful, services excellent and good value. I stayed at another 5-star property in the center of town for the first two days of my trip and it does not even come close in comparison to this hotel. If you are debating between hotel options in Luang Prabang, as I did before my trip, I would highly recommend staying here. I also realized once we arrived at the property that it’s in a great location - sits on top of a hill so you get the view and breeze but only 5 mins away from all the sights and center of town. The hotel will run you back and forth in a van or golf cart whenever you need. It’s very easy and you get best of everything.

Hubby and I stayed for 6 nights at La Residence Phou Vao for our 26 wedding anniversary trip. Highly recommend this hotel for many reasons, firstly the staff, exceptional service - from remembering minor details during breakfast service, to cooking my morning glory and preparing my mango and cucumbers from the morning markets, to organising a hair appointment. The welcome ceremony when we arrived was a special treat. Our room was spacious, clean with lovely views over greenery and Mount Phousi in the distance. Turn down service at night was well received especially the yummy treats (love the mochi- thank you Chef Andrii). Complementary drinks in the mini bar and abundant glass bottled water. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the pool and valley views. I loved wondering around the kitchen garden during my cooking class and I’m looking forward to replicating the recipes at home. We felt very spiritual during the ALMs experience with our local lady Ms L. The highlight was our private tour and breakfast at the Kaungsi waterfalls, highly recommended as a special occasion celebration. We loved the zip line experience at Kaungsi falls and felt very special being the first ever customers. We felt relaxed and reenergised after the couples spa treatment. In house dining will not disappoint - loved the fresh spring rolls with tamarind sauce and the yellow curry. The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the night markets and centre of town, we utilised the hotels on-call complementary air conditioned shuttle buses that were for transport into and back from town. Thank you Andrei and team for the enjoyable stay at La Residence, we hope to be back again.

I have been coming back to this hotel for years, and I think it is the best value luxury hotel in the city. You really have to come and see if yourself how gorgeous it is to sit by the beautiful pool with its hand-glazed tiles and look out over the mountains and see the temple lit up in the distance. It is just exquisite.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we enjoyed this superb hotel; the rooms we large and very well serviced. The staff were just beyond amazing and could not do enough for us, as soon as we arrived they knew our name and had our key ready for us. In particular No, Chantee and PhoneVilai were outstanding and went beyond to make our stay extra special. Superb hotel, amazing staff, will certainly visit again. Our home away from home!
