The hotel is located on a hil slope at around a 40 min walk from the main tourist area of Luang Prabang. If you bike (free bikes available from hotel) you can get to the centre in ten minutes leusurely. Views from the rooms are wonderful. The more you pay, the better the view with the lower paying rooms being situated on the lower levels of the slope and the luxury suites at the top. We experienced both the standard room as well as the suite. The difference is enormous. While the standard rooms are a bit underwhelming for a hotel that is ranked 5 stars, the suite totally overdelivers. Expect panoramic windows with matching sweeping views over the Luang Prabang mountainous countryside, a nespresso machine in your room, a king size bed with great quality bedding that offers you the same sweeping panoramic views even when lying down (if you don’t mind leaving the curtains open). Expect also privacy from prying eyes (highest slope levels), a luxury bath tub and a magnificent terrace that lets you watch the famed Luang Prabang sunsets from the first row. If you have the extra money it’s worth considering. The Michelin Guides would undoubtedly qualify this as ‘Une Petite Follie’ - you don’t do it every day but sometimes it’s worth pampering yourself. The food in the restaurant is excellent and amongst the best you can have in town. It offers a range of Laotian classics as well as some international options. Breakfast was not extremely variated but acceptable. Some ant issues should be addressed though. The charm of the hotel lies in its location huddled along the slope of a hill. Having said that the hotel may be challenging for people that are less sure footed. Wheelchair access will not be the most straight forward and some people may find the height differences trying. In general the staff are all wonderfully and friendly, ready to help out if needed. The lack of functional English can however be a stumbling block. We asked for a dental kit and got... bug spray delivered to the room. The hotel could perhaps invest in language training for the staff. Furthermore some consistency in what’s most delicate in rounding of an otherwise wonderful stay would be in place: namely in the payment of the bill. When we arrived we prepaid our stay with American Express. Upon checkout the card was not accepted and only Visa was allowed. The website does list American Express explicitly. So be prepared with alternative means of payment upon checkout if you want to avoid unpleasant situations at the end of your stay. The hotel could easily solve this by either no longer listing American Express on their web site or else honoring their commitments. It would make a stay at the Kiridara perfect.

I absolutely loved everything about this hotel. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. Our room was spacious and had a lovely little patio. The beds and the pillows were so comfy. After a lovely nights rest we went down to the breakfast room and again were welcomed with such warmth by the F&B manager James, and his staff who were had so willing to do anything to make our experience special. We ate quite a few meals at the hotel, which I seldom do when I travel, but the food was authentic and truly delicious. The Infinity pool was so refreshing and we loved the views from the comfy day beds. The staff were so informative and helpful in telling us what Luang Prabang had to offer. I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel, from being spoilt on my birthday, to the fun cooking course that they threw together for us. It was home away from home in lovely Luang Prabang, when we weren't exploring all that this place has to offer

Very well appointed hotel. Well trained staff that all spoke good English. Beautiful rooms. Spotless and well serviced. James (food and beverage manager) and Chantee the chef to be commended. I was even given private cooking class on the pool deck! Free shuttle service all day long and night to the night market. I will be back!

This hotel is on a hill overlooking the town which makes it a little less noisy than the hotels in town but they run a free tuk tuk into town or you can borrow a bike and ride in. The breakfast is delicious, especially the local options. The dinners and bar food are top notch too. The rooms are big, although the bathroom space is surprisingly small, especially the shower which is a strange shape. The wifi is dodgy every where in Luang Prabang which is why I have not deducted a circle. The infinity pool is lovely to sit around on a day bed in the afternoon when it is just too hot to do anything else.

Our family stayed at Kiridara for 5 nights and loved every minute! It's a wonderful hotel about 1km outside the town, the hotel shuttle they provide is very flexible. We sometimes took a tuk tuk back, which never cost more than 30,000 Kip. Very much enjoyed the pool, the Happy Hour before the beautiful sunset. We ate at the hotel a number of times, along with breakfast every day. Food quality very good and varied. The prices are expensive for LP. Most notably, we appreciated the excellent service by everyone at Kiridara; warm and friendly. Mr James in the restaurant was especially accommodating to everyone in the family. He had such a "can do" spirit and set a great example for customer service. Having said that, everyone we came into contact with was really very good. Our kids still talk about their stay at Kiridara.
