Belmond Reid's Palace

This is a fantastic hotel and one we have visited last year, the service is everything you expect and more from this hotel group. We look forward to exploring more of the Belmond hotels.

**A Beautiful Hotel** What a beautiful hotel. It was expensive, but we felt it was worth it. The hotel has a wonderful atmosphere and a fantastic setting, and you can really see why it has such a great reputation. I’m sure there are better hotels in the world, but I have never stayed in one! The staff were all fantastic, very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfasts were superb, with a great choice, and lunch at the poolside restaurant was also very good. We also visited Villa Cipriani, which has a wonderful position overlooking the hotel. The service was great, but we thought the food was just OK. The meal we had at Brisa do Mar, however, was outstanding. Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Reid’s Palace and would love to return.

We loved our time at Reid's Palace. Reid's surpassed all expectations we had of a hotel that is 135 years old. It was GORGEOUS beyond belief. I felt like I was in a movie the whole time I was there. Cliffside swimming and sunbathing, rooms that overlooked the ocean with sunrises, a terrace right off our room for morning coffee. Small thoughtful gifts each day for us to take with us. The staff was incredible all the way through. If anyone is thinking about visiting Madeira, Reid's Palace is a must for your stay!

I stayed 4 nights with my cousins in a suite The room is very large and comfortable with lovely balcony overlooking the sea The bed is very large and comfortable and the amenities very good . Tea and coffee making facilities. On arrival a cake and Madeira wine to savour . The bathroom is very large with separate toilet and plenty of space for toiletries.had a bath and good shower . Decor is generally a little dated and the TV stand at the end of the bed an eyesore and unnecessary. There is plenty of closet space and a good size safe . Has a steamer and Dyson hairdryer. Very well appointed. Breakfast buffet was amazing and staff really lovely. There are 2 pools and you can go into the sea right at the bottom of the cliff. All very beautiful and well maintained. The restaurant William was very good and tasty food . The chef came to our table and as was a special occasion had a delicious birthday cake Only 10 minutes but car to the centre of Funchal The spa was fantastic too as I had a wonderful facial there . All very clean A very good choice so would definitely recommend and all the staff were amazing
