Belmond Reid's Palace

We return once again to the magic that is Reid’s Palace. The hotel and more importantly the team are the definition of excellence in hospitality. Our now twice yearly visits have become highlights in the calendar as the body and mind just relaxes and unwinds from everyday life. A special day today was made even more delightful with so many subtle and elegant touches (bespoke flowers on the table, champagne, a cake presented by the wonderful restaurant team at breakfast and of course sincerely delivered best wishes from Lucia, Francisca, Rita and the team. A further shout out to Clara who is in Reid’s from La Residencia in Deia- a charming and engaging ambassador for Belmond who was delightful to meet. Summary - perfect as always and a slice of elegance and charm in at times a mad world

A lovely trip which lived up to expectations. Reid's Palace was a lovely short holiday and and excellent way to spend Christmas.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, the staff were fantastic and the facilities and ambience were first class.....but.. do not be mistaken into thinking that Reids is an adults only hotel..it definitely is not. On several occasions our breakfast was disturbed by noisy toddlers and crying babies (even crockery crashing to the floor) as was our pool side experience on a number of occasions. The pool area is walled on 2 sides so noise carries. Some children just ran wild in between the sunbeds. We blame the parents 100%. although Reids staff could have communicated with the parents...We would never have allowed our children to be so disruptive and spoil the enjoyment of others. To be fair when inside the building in the evening, children were barely in evidence.

Reid's Palace is a wonderful venue. We booked a seaview room and were upgraded to a sea view suite, which was spacious, had a wonderful balcony where we read and relaxed. There are many levels to Reid's Palace requiring the use of one or two sets of elevators to arrive at your destination. There are two heated pools available and uncrowded - one salt water and one fresh water. The 1891 Bar has outstanding views, service, and selection of beverages, snacks and light meals. The Christmas buffet was poolside, and like most Christmas buffets was bustling with people and children.

Amazing hotel with long history. Top hotel on the island and they know it …. All 5 star as you expect but Christmas Eve gala dinner was a disaster ( food was way below par, Sussex burnt, main turkey course missing vegetables etc listed , and more ) service friendly and helpful but amateur and overall lacked coordination) pools and facilities superb otherwise as was service and food elsewhere.. Standard room was Nice but opposite a service entrance which was incredibly noisy first thing in the morning and the room next door ( unbelievably had maintenance work going on from 8.00 !)
