Visited Madrid 4 months with my wife and a friend of mine suggested me to stay at Ritz ! Never been in a ritz hotel before and i wish I could visit it before ! Everything was great ! Food was a bit late but it was so tasty that we didn't mind at all!Everything was exceptional ! I'll definitely visit it again.

I hear there is an imminent scheduled closure of 2 years for a complete overhaul; all I can say is please don’t change what is a beautiful and graceful building with some of the nicest and best staff one can find anywhere. I have been staying in the Ritz on visits to Madrid since 2006 and making sure to stop by the bar and divine lobby, for a tea, a drink and a chat with friends when I’m not. I love the place. I truly hope it doesn’t become like so many others with that bland high end international luxury look - some things are worth keeping and valuing as they are. Thanks to the Ritz staff and management for so many really nice stays - what will I do when you’re closed! Go there for the cocktails, afternoon tea, Breakfast before it closes.

There are some unique and special properties around the world where the feeling of welcoming service transcends the threshold of excellence and The Ritz Madrid is one of those. The skilled and professional staff us the decisive factor fir this old Grand Dame to reach levels of hospitality affordable by few historical hotels, like The Oriental Bangkok or Le Montreux Palace.

We loved the hotel and the great service. We interacted with Alvaro Marzal who is the front desk manger for some additional service. I have not met an executive at a hotel that is willing to work as hard as Alvaro. This hotel is in great shape as long as they have Alvaro working for them.

Hotel is well located and aspires to 5 star status. We booked 6 nights on another website at a premium rate as we were expecting a special beginning to 2018. Although the smallish room at nearly 500 E per night appeared elegant, the bathroom with two sinks and large tub left the shower minicule and the bathroom over crowded. Service was erratic. Dining staff did not appear to be organized and we waited 30 minutes without even being acknowledges for service for tea. It took three tries to get a check. Certainly not a good value at these prices in our view. We will not return.
