Great luxurious hotel. We initially were pleased with the size of our room based upon the selection in the photos and we were immediately upgraded the same day. All the staff are very hospital and most are English speaking. Pillows are very flat but if you request they will replace them with others. Hotel is not in the mix of business (which is a plus for us) but there are stores and shopping within a 10-15 minute walk. Excellent walking location.

Lovely hotel, the beds are so comfortable and they are very quick to rectify and mistakes or problems. The staff are all so friendly and helpful I would recommend a stay here. The breakfast in the club lounge is plentiful and fresh with very attentive waiting staff.

It's more than 20 years ago since I first stayed at the Intercontinental Madrid. Over all these years, it got some patina (especially the rooms/bathrooms), but if you enjoy a traditional luxury hotel, this one is a solid pick! As for rooms, I prefer the ones to the (noisy) street with balconies - but there are quieter ones towards the backyard. However, stay far away from the lifts. I certainly continue coming back, especially for the decent cocktails at the bar!

We love this hotel, the location, the facilities, the staff all excellent, so why only 3 stars?? It’s so dated and in need of work. Things broken in bathrooms, things not working, finishes and fitting that are beyond tired. It’s a shame, it could be epic. I don’t understand why such a prime hotel is allowed to become so dated. Hopefully it’s due a refurbishment as we won’t be back until it’s had one.

Beautiful hotel, well appointed with spacious and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet is one of the most varied and delicious I have had. The staff is courteous, friendly, professional and service oriented. Concierge was especially helpful in securing difficult to get restaurant reservations for us. This hotel experience helped make our first stay in Madrid a wonderful one. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit Madrid.
