Hotel Madrid Reina Victoria is perfectly located for exploring Madrid, and we appreciated being checked in early after our long flight from the U.S.—a thoughtful gesture that started things off well. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay didn’t live up to expectations. The surrounding construction was a major disappointment. It stripped away the charm of the area, making it impossible to enjoy even the plaza in front of the hotel. The bed was too soft for my liking—far from the comfort of Hotel Colón Gran Meliá in Sevilla. Toilet paper was surprisingly rough, which added to the discomfort. We appreciated the daily water for the coffee pot and the variety of espresso pods. Our espresso machine had issues upon arrival, but staff replaced it promptly. The nightly rate felt steep, and breakfast was an additional €30 per person per day—far too much for what was offered. Had I known about the construction and these limitations, I likely wouldn’t have booked, despite my loyalty to the Meliá brand. This stay felt overpriced and impersonal, and despite the location, it’s not a place I’ll be returning to—or recommending.

Stayed here on a recent business trip and was very pleased overall. The room offered a great balance of function and comfort, with a modern, slightly luxurious feel—ideal for working and relaxing. I was concerned that my room (1st floor overlooking the square) would be noisy at night. It wasn't at all. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh options to start the day. The only downside was the gym: it’s very small and must be booked in advance, which wasn’t clearly communicated at check-in. I later discovered I could use a nearby partner gym, but had to figure that out myself. Despite that Service overall was very good—staff were helpful and arranged dinner reservations smoothly. The hotel’s location is another big plus: right in the heart of Madrid, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and cultural sites. It also has a rooftop bar although it was closed during my stay - which may have explained the very reasonable cost. Would definitely stay again, whether for business or a personal trip.

We arrived just past midnight and the receptionist was quick and efficient in allocating our rooms. We found the reception to be friendly and helpful during our stay. The room, as requested, had a "courtyard" view that was not particularly attractive, but that did not matter at all, as we slept well and were out all day. The restaurant offered an okay continental-style breakfast that was satisfying. However, the restaurant was closed in the evening -plenty of options nearby. We did use the rooftop bar to enjoy the view. The hotel is a short walk from the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum . Overall a comfortable hassle free stay.

Paint peeling from exterior. No hot water kettle or smart TV to stream. Really? In year 2025? Ordered ice and called three times and was finally delivered after 1.5 hours. Although I’m in a superior panoramic with balcony view there is no tub. I was informed it will cost an extra $1000 for a bathtub. Unfortunately the view is of a construction site as the square below is being renovated…

This is a wonderful hotel. Great location close to everything. The staff are gracious and spend time to tell you about the hotel and offer any assistance with what you need. The room has a generous mini bar, , flat screen Bose like sound system that also carries into the bathroom if you don't want to miss anything, gorgeous marble bathroom with rain shower head and spa like 8 headed shower sprays, multidimensional mirror and a magnifying mirror. There is a roof top bar for evening tapas and drinks, and restaurant on the first floor for breakfast option. I read some of the other reviews and felt they were unreasonable. First, if you are traveling to Europe, expect smaller rooms. We have been to nearly every country in Europe. This is a luxury hotel. If you want bigger, super luxurious hotels plan on spending more than 800 euro a night. But for 200-500 euro a night four star hotel, this hotel has a lot to offer. Hospitality in Europe is an art and they are very proud to spend as much time with you that you need. Even if that means people behind them have to wait. But I assure you when your turn comes up they will be just as gracious to you with all of your needs addressed. We could use more of that in the world. Not less.
