Reviews for Westin Palace Madrid
This was our first trip to Madrid so we decided to sample two different styles and stayed a few days in a boutique hotel before moving to Westin Palace. Location was perfect and the exterior looked historic and posh. The public space is vast but fortunately not too much hustle and bustle. The receptionist was expressionless first and became nicer after acknowledging our SPG Gold status. We felt more relieved after Peggy-Joan Ziemann, Westin Experience Specialist, stepped out to greet us and extended warm hospitality. The upgraded room was spacious and had a great view of the Neptuno fountain. Loved the multiple massage heads in the shower room. We had dinner and breakfast in La Rotonda. Enjoyed both meals under the beautiful glass dome ceiling which enhanced the ambiance. Would have extended our stay if we did not have our Barcelona itinerary lined up. Will surely be back the next time we visit Madrid.

The hotel is solid in every area: service was top-notch despite our arrival on an extremely busy day for the city. The huge property is well maintained and clean. The room and bed are comfortable and spacious, and temperature is just nice for a winter day. The central location of the hotel is also a plus. The several main art museums of the city are just around the corner, while various plazas are within walking distance (under 1km). Plenty of good restaurants and cafes around the area too. There are only 2 things which I didnāt like. There are only 2 lifts in a tiny lobby for a large hotel. That means that if you stay in the further end of the property, itās a fair bit of walk to get to the lobby. And that is if you can get into lifts, which are small and inadequate for a large property like this. The other is that room service came knocking at 8.30am while we were still sleeping, but I donāt really fault the team as I didnāt put up a ādo not disturbā sign earlier and it was a busy day with lots of cleaning to do (though we did indicate we have a late checkout). Overall we really enjoyed our stay. If budget permits I will love to stay in the property again.

Amazing! We were upgraded as SPG platinum members to a beautiful suite. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff wonderful! I would not want to stay anywhere else if I go back to Madrid. The manager sent us up a bottle of Cava for our anniversary as well.
We really had a wonderful time at the Palace. The location is great - near the entrance of the El Retiro park, opposite the Prado, right by the Hop-on, Hop-off bus - with lots of terrific restaurants within walking distance. Our room overlooking the square was lovely and the staff were very efficient. No complaints although Madrid is unsurprisingly an expensive city. We probably won't return to Madrid but if we did, then we would certainly stay at the Palace again.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Was delighted that when I checked in at 9 am as I had requested, not only did they have a room available, but I was given an upgrade (benefits of being an SPG member!). Any time a hotel accommodates my request for a really early checkin- I am very appreciative! (Many hotels do not.)The hotel is quite charming with a most spectacular rotunda, where I enjoyed both breakfast and afternoon tea. Breakfast somewhat pricey, but convenient, magnificent ambience and certainly a nice selection of items. Free internet was more than fine for routine internet needs. Staff members were at front reception, concierge, housekeeping, dining room and front door were friendly and always inquiring about any assistance they could provide. Room was charming, spacious and clean. The location is IDEAL! I walked everywhere, the farthest location being the royal palace was about a mile, Prado across the st and the central squares all are less the a mile. Charming hotel, attentive staff in the perfect local. Highly recommend.
