I spent the Christmas of 2017 at Banyan tree Seychelles, I enjoyed my experience from the beginning to the end. I checked in at 6:30 in the morning of the day I booked and my room was ready at 7:30in the morning, when I went to my room I was quite surprised by my room, there was a bunch beautiful leaves and flowers neatly spelling ā€œwelcome to banyan treeā€on my bed. There is a very nice and small animal protection area. The saffron restaurant is very nice. Every room comes with a private pool. My only disappointment is that the hotel is very far from downtown

Booking ......prompt email reply even though we r in different time zone. Impressive booking experience. Not all 5 stars hotel in Seychelles can do this. (Hilton replied over 48 hours to my 2nd email reminder after 5 days on my first email. Before I confirmed my booking with Banyan tree, I was worrying about the conditions of the room because there r some writings about old & poor conditions of the rooms in accordance to the room rates. But after I checked in the beachfront pool villa, I found the conditions are okay except the water in the outdoor jacuzzi which is a bit sticky. Excellent service, from the start by the receptionist , Isabelle, house keeping, to my last minute booking request about the ferry ticket to Praslin by May. The ladies r smart & helpful, really appreciate that and keep this up. Villa......great. Unfortunately some misbehaving guests from mainland China used the sun lounger which belongs to our villa ( a signage has been posted next to the lounger) ,walked into the garden n stayed in the pool area until they found that I was watching them from the room. Breakfast......can do better if the staff show us the menu (choice of eggs, toast etc) at the time we seated in stead of showing to us upon request. I would definitely say that the guest has no such idea unless they have similar breakfast experience before. The honeymoon amenities r really a surprise to us! Love it!

We have stayed at Banyan Tree for two night early in February. The hotel is set in a marvelous bay with a magnificent view and the beach is something incredible. In few words Banyan Tree is a marvelous hotel and everything was nice and relaxing.

Stayed at a villa on the hill overlooking Takamaka bay. Very beautiful villa setting with spectacular view of the beach and turquoise sea. The villa is spatial and equipped with all facilities we need. The view and facilities undoubtedly receive 5 star rating. What make Banyan Tree Seychelles special is its location within a wetlands biosphere. It is the largest wetlands of Seychelles with unique species. We were excited by a number of moorhens, tenrec, big fruit bats, and many other small animals. The resort is committed nature conservation; however, some of their actions are unlikely. We observed that they were cleaning up the natural swamp to make it look nicer. I'm wondering if an ecosystem requires man-made cleanup and if the nice looking pond is more important than the conservation? With this kind of activity, those unique species will be abolished. Moorhens' nests in the swamp will soon be gone. If the resort development expands, the entire wetlands ecosystem will probably be put to an end.

We splurged a little and got the ocean front villa, and I have to say it was well worth it. We stayed at a different hotel on the island for a few more days and I was glad I didn't upgrade there, because when I got there and saw what I would have gotten, I would have been very unamused. The beach front villa at Banyan was the true feel of paradise. Walking out onto the empty beach was just breathless. There were barely any people on the beach, maybe 2 or 3 couples on the entire stretch. The white sand and turquoise water were the perfection of what you would expect. The service was excellent. The breakfast was top notch, filling and got us through till early dinner, which was up there in price, but not outrageous. What was outrageous was the cost of drinks, but luckily we researched that ahead of time and picked up two bottles of high quality alcohol at the Dubai airport. The resort is really secluded, which is what makes it great, but also doesn't give you any options for non-resort food and drinks. The other resort I mentioned above was in the touristy area up north (H Resort), where we hoped to leave the resort for dinners etc, but after taking a quick walk we were back in the resort for the rest of the stay. The advantage of the resorts in town is that you can book the day trips much easier, to see La Digue for example, which is worth the choppy ride there. The spa was excellent. We got the couples massage which was in an open area with a view. Well worth the cost. Parts of the hotel/room were a bit dated, but that didn't spoil our stay. The overall atmosphere is very pleasant and authentic. We would certainly come back.
