We spent in Savoy some days during our honeymoon. The hotel is quite nice, it looks quite new and conservation of most of it is ok. Pool is nice but they need to hire more gardeners as the grass is not in good shape. Food is terrible. Quality is low and presentation is disgusting. This hotel must invest in a new chef asap. The only food that is ok is coffee if you order a Nespresso. Service is also bad. People are not customer oriented. If you ask them anything the first they do is to look at you as if you were disturbing them. A new HR director is also advisable.

This hotel was the biggest let down of the entire trip. Having spent time at La Reserve on Praslin and L'Orangeraie on La Digue we were delighted with our hotel choices and had high hopes for the savoy only to be bitterly disappointed. There's nothing special or exotic about the hotel, it looks like any commercial, huge resort that you'd get anywhere in the world. There was a festival on Beau Vallon beach the weekend that we were there which we were unaware of and instead of having the decency to warn us of that prior to arrival, we only found out upon check in. The festival was so loud and because of it, any slight enjoyment that we would have gotten out of the hotel was ruined. I think it is appalling that they knew for months that the festival was happening that weekend and did not inform guests. On the bright side, pescado is a nice restaurant and the gecko bar is good for lunch. The spa left a lot to be desired in its lay out and facilities but the treatments were good. We had an absolutely wondering time in the Seychelles but this hotel ruined our time on Mahe for me.

To start, I should say that I treat most negative reviews with a pinch of salt. There will always be people who complain. However now we have had 6 days here I can confirm that all the many negative reviews on here are very accurate. What is worse is that they have all been replied to in a very conciliatory manner by management promising that things will change yet it is apparent by the repeated similar negative reviews and now our own experience that nothing has changed and doesn't look like it is going to. It is a very nice hotel set in very nice grounds with a beautiful beach let down very badly by disinterested unmotivated staff and clearly very weak ineffectual management. It masquerades as a 5* hotel. We have been lucky enough to stay at many 5* hotels around the world but this comes nowhere near any of these. If we had to rate it ourselves we would say it was a 3, occasionally low 4* hotel which is a pity because if the management had really taken note and acted upon all the negative reviews it could be SO much better. It gives the impression of what might once have been a very nice hotel being allowed to slowly fall apart. Examples of this include one of the only 2 lifts breaking down on the first day and still being inoperative the day we left, garden day beds being broken and simply left in place for the duration of our stay, an underwater pool light broken loose from the wall and left on top of the wall in the water with the wire dangling from it, and pool decking being in so poor condition that you could not walk on it in bare feet without getting splinters. But much worse than this was the service. There were notable exceptions and I should mention both Esther and Lay Lay as they were superb. They were motivated, enthusiastic and friendly. But sadly well over 50% of the staff were nonchalant, disinterested and unmotivated to the point of being rude. Service was almost always painfully slow often to the point of drinks being ordered and being surprised when they finally did arrive because we had forgotten we had ordered them due to the delay. There were no pool towels available on 2 consecutive days and during our check in we witnessed another guest complaining of the same thing. We were told it was down to a problem with the laundry. That might work for 1 day but not this long. A genuine 5* hotel would either have resolved the problem or made immediate alternative arrangements. This hotel did have many plus points as others have correctly noted. It could be so so good and I really wish I could be sat here now writing a glowing review. But the truth is I would not return here and I could not recommend it to anyone. We tried to let management know at the time but they were almost impossible to prise out of meetings, phone calls etc. In the end I insisted and managed to speak to the deputy General Manager to whom I have since written constructively because I believe that if you are not informed of the problems you can't rectify them. However since then we have returned home and read again the many negative reviews of people who it appears have done the same yet despite that it seem the same problems continue unchanged. If you do decide to stay here despite these reviews you will find a beautiful hotel but please keep your expectations in check. We read them and didn't think they would bother us. In the end we were very disappointed.

This was our first proper family holiday and it was perfect. The hotel is in a great location for you to walk to a few bars and restaurants and the beautiful beach is literally at the end of the path. We stayed in a massive garden suite which was perfect for when our little boy napped in the afternoon we could still sit outside and enjoy the sun. The staff in the restaurants were lovely and always happy to help. The one negative I have about this hotel is the wooden floor by the side of the pool, really does need filing and treating, we had to make sure our 18 month old had shoes on to not get splinters. But honestly it wouldn’t stop me going back as we had such a lovely trip.

All I can say is Wow!!! I have been to the Maldives and Mauritius BUT the Seychelles is just the winner!! The resort is beautiful and the staff are so sweet and friendly! we had the Junior suite it was so big and cozy and we had the sea view! definitely worth taking this room! the shower was insanely big i could probably fit 15 of me inside it! never seen such a beautiful bathroom! I was so relaxed on my holiday and the location is just a hop step and jump into the aqua blue water the beach is stunning!! take your towels from the pool area and just lounge on the beach all day. It is a public beach and who cares we are blessed to be guests on the Island, and it was so beautiful especially at the weekend seeing lovely locals enjoying the weather and sea. It is such a lovely peaceful beach and super long and clean! I heard all the beaches in the Seychelles are public but it didn't feel over crowded at all was just PERFECT ( no one forcing you to buy hats, shorts, henna tattoos zero hawkers just so quiet and amazing!) There are food places outside the resort, a small supermarket a pharmacy ATM everything you need is just outside,. We were super lucky to be at the Regetta 2017! it is an annual festival in the Seychelles and all the fun was happening just along our beach! that is something i will always remember the food the crowd the events it was so much fun! and it was by surprise that we booked our holiday during the Regetta!! lovely people fantastic culture and it was a delight to be part of it! The food was lovely and something for everyone we had fresh fish daily, there is always meat chicken and fish and it was halal you will never get hungry here! Also you have to do a tour or two! there is only so much sunbathing we can do! Mahe is beautiful/stunning but there are Islands not too far away and it was a slice of paradise! my jaw would hurt as i would smile so much at the beauty of this country! I would Highly recommend booking from the resort mention "Billy Camille Charter" he was very professional, it was a beautiful and a very safe boat with life jackets and snorkels so you can stop and watch the magic below in the corals! My husband has always wanted to fish so we booked the fishing trip for him and the smile on his face when he caught 4 huge fishes! it was an experience that he still talks about! you can do half day tours, full day tours, You bring your map and they will cater for what you need and the price is very reasonable, wished we had stayed longer and we would have booked more tours with Billy. I saw families with small babies below 1, i saw elderly couples this resort caters for everyone. With a sad and heavy heart we left yesterday and we are already planning to return in April for my birthday! The happy driver who picked us up to the lovely check in girl, to Ganesh the restaurant manager, the whole team is amazing and the Savoy was definitely the best choice we made. I read some miserable reviews and some people need to honestly get a life and enjoy the magic of this resort instead of nit picking. who ever walks away from the Savoy unhappy there is something wrong with them! Myself and my husband want to say thank you for having us taking super care of us and answering all our questions! We will see you soon xx
