Reviews for Malibu Beach Inn

Depends on Your Room Assignment

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Whether or not you enjoy your stay is solely determined by the discretion of the room assignment (and if you don’t mind cold weak water pressure showers). Positives:” ocean front” is literally on the water. Amazing views. High end Toto washlet makes you remember that trip to Tokyo (seriously: other high end hotels why don’t you offer this!). Comfortable bed. Neutrals: Restaurant food was decidedly mixed. Ahi poke was fresh and flavorful…lobster roll was essentially mayo and bread. Since there aren’t a ton of options, I would like the restaurant to be better. Negatives: unfortunately we were given room 206, which means you get to hear the restaurant patrons if your door is open and they will be staring at you if you go out on your deck to enjoy the view (ie the entire reason why you are staying here!). The shower has really poor water pressure and doesn’t get hot enough. As a bonus annoyance, there is not much soundproofing between floors so made the folks above us sound like they were regularly moving the furniture. If you must stay in Malibu the location is amazing, but the hotel doesn’t meet the price point demanded for the experience (tho perhaps it is better if you aren’t stuck with the restaurant to interfere with your view).

Amazing stay

Took a last minute short solo break and decided on the Malibu Beach Inn and am glad I did! Everyone I interacted with was very kind and accommodating, and my room was clean and comfortable. Had room service each day, and the food was excellent also.

First class....and memorable

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

First class all the way. From the hostess when we got there and the valet driver our introduction to the property was welcoming and and a genuine feeling of "thanks for being here". You'll find the little touches in the room from the chocolates to the candles.... well let's just say...... being right on the ocean with a gorgeous view is the topper.

First class service at a chic and shabby hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Chic yet shabby and super expensive with amazing staff. The Inn is dated, the rooms are nice and fairly large, but it’s not the St Regis and at these prices you wonder why. The best part about this hotel - other than the location if you want to be on the Malibu beach - is the amazing staff that works here. From the front desk, to the restaurant/bar, the bellmen and housekeepers - everyone is super friendly, helpful and nice. They will work to solve any problem you have. The food in the restaurant is also excellent and the wait staff and bar staff superb. The rooms are noisy with the road on one side and the ocean on the other side. But all in all a nice, very expensive stay!

I came back with pleasure at this beach located hotel. Same romance and great services. I ve got carefull attention and the personel was very kind with my any small request. The finest cuisine, the fish and the chef pasta I strongly reccomend. The atmospere is very cosy and I feel my self spoiled, this is by far the most beautiful hotel on the Romanian sea side

We spent three nights in at the Malibu Beach Inn - it was difficult to get my husband to leave! Sunrise and sunsets were magnificent! At night we were lulled to sleep by the lapping waves of the Pacific.
