I had been anxious to stay at the "new /improved" Malibu Beach Inn - having stayed there for years even when it was a less than stellar property -as the prime beach location is incomparable ! From the second we drove onto the property - we were impressed with far more than the location !! The Valets are friendly and expeditious and the front desk staff- welcoming and gracious. Our room was divine with top drawer amenities and furnishings (including the new TOTO toilet ) The view was exceptional from our glorious room. Dinner was AMAZING !! Our food top tier, our beverages (rose wine & martinis) were cool, crisp and served with joy by our astute servers . we ate in the indoor dining room vs the beautiful balcony as it was a chilly eve - the room was buzzy and busy but sound level and ambiance = perfection. Cannot wait to return for a peaceful, calming, serene stay at The Malibu Beach Inn. **had the opportunity to meet the GM who was on property the entire evening and early the next AM -- no wonder this property runs so smoothly - hands on management !

Stayed for four days earlier this month. My go to spot in the area. Overlooking Zuma...quick walk to the beach. Great for that shot of the green flash. Room was huge with great amenities. Pool was clean fresh and awesome. Front desk...forgive me...i forgot the manager who checked me in....she was absolutely stellar...giving me options on upcoming stays...and letting me contemplate before deciding on extending my stay...ive stayed at all the great hotels...and tes...Calamigos is a nice option....but if you want privacy...bang for the buck...and a class front desk....Malibu Country Inn is way worth checking out! May your travels be uncomlicated and safe!!

This wonderful hotel is comfortable, clean, delightful. We slept so well. Beds and linens are perfect. One thing, sofa bed was terrible so check on that before you go! It was concave. If you can afford upgrade for view, do it! totally worth it! I highly recommend!

Stayed here Mothers Day weekend in room 215. Absolutely stunning oceanfront room - the balcony is practically hanging over the water. During high tide I think it really is hanging over the water. Hotel has a very European feel: small and cozy, but at the same time very upgraded. Crowd size in the bar and restaurant depends on the day: Friday night my wife and I enjoyed a nice drink in the very quiet bar area and Saturday night we enjoyed a nice drink in the very hopping, noisy bar area. Very friendly bartender though, who made a good Manhattan for me and a nice hot toddy for my wife who was nursing a head cold. Restaurant has outside seating on a deck overhanging the beach and water. Very nice little private feeling beach - when the tide is out the beach is pretty much perfect. Hotel has their own smartphone app from which I was able to ask for my car, order room service, send questions to the concierge, etc. Very convenient and intuitive. The Queen Oceanfront rooms have a couch with a queen size pullout - no problem sleeping on the couch bed for 2 teenage girls. However the queen rooms are a bit cramped for 2 adults and 2 teenagers as our group was, but for a couple it would have been perfect - my wife and I are already planning on coming back without the kids. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was a bit slow and the food was a bit underwhelming - I had the avocado toast with eggs and bacon. They forgot the bacon and the avocado was done guacamole style with way too much citrus in it, spread about half an inch thick on the toast, which was overwhelming. Also, even the oceanfront rooms can get some road noise from the coast highway, especially when an ambulance/fire truck roars by. The only other bummer was that the SPA was closed for renovation. Overall a wonderful experience. We will be back.
