The hotel is beautiful with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. The location is great as Palma is relatively close and easy to get to yet you are removed from the City. The hotel is beautiful as our the grounds. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The front desk staff was excellent, very accommodating and helpful. But... The hot tub didn't seem to function and was actually colder than the main pool. The service around the hotel was lacking and inconsistent. Although very friendly, the pool side service was a struggle. The bar service ,which also has a food menu, was terrible, not friendly and mostly missing. The dinner service was absolutely horrendous, so much so that we finally gave up and just walked away after they stopped coming to our table. The only food service that was good was the breakfast service, excellent and friendly. Our daughter has celiac (gluten-free) and the hotel said they could accommodate her needs which was part of the reason we chose this hotel. They were very accommodating but the night we ate dinner at the hotel, she got gluten poisoning and got very sick. The manager did leave a note for us and was apologetic but was too little too late. In fact, in the 5 nights there, I didn't see or meet one manager for the hotel or restaurants, shocking for such a small hotel. The dining staff did not seem supervised or even very well trained. Bottom line, I would not recommend this hotel unless they get their act together.

Sorry, a lame pun and no doubt quoted before - Son Net/Sonnet - you get the idea. It’s a fabulous spot, properly luxurious, with huge, comfortable rooms and 101 places to sit, inside and out. Front desk staff are charming and genuinely welcoming. The informal, outdoor restaurant - Gazebo served as good a lobster salad as I’ve had anywhere (but then a less than perfect one must be the definition of a first world problem). Oleum, the posh‘un indoors, is very fine, as is the wine list. As some others have mentioned, this high quality establishment is let down a little by its staffing ratio. At times, it was a little difficult to flag down a waiter outside the immediate confines of the bar or restaurants, and whilst that’s another first world problem, it did jar a little with the overall standard of Son Net - and the cost, for that matter. That’s a minor gripe. It’s a fabulous place to stay, indulge and relax. The area is perfect for cycling and I’d happily return.

Service is unfortunately not 5 star-like: It seems that the hotel is a bit short of staff. At the breakfast for example the buffet is not very well maintained and refilled, at the pool there are constantly late at night all the dirty/used towels still on the sunbeds and all the empty bottles etc. are not cleared away - there should be definitely a person who is clearing away the used towels permanently and set up the sunbeds. The same with bottels/glasses in the pool area. The hotel itself is quite great - the only fault is the service. There is a lot of room for improvement. The manager should employ some more people to improve the service. The historical building from the 17th century is really impressive. Coupled with the quiet location really a place to relax and calm down. Considering the relative high price - even for a standard room - and the faults in the service we wouldn't come back. As already said, it was a nice time there but I can't find a reason to return.

Have only tried the restaurant and bar but must return! Astounding surroundings with magic scenery, beautiful building and garden and excellent food. If you get the possibility - go there! Have heard there are amazing walking trails close by.

We have stayed at the Son Net a number of times and it continues to meet and usually exceed our expectations. It is in an idyllic location with the most breathtaking views over the valley and mountains. It is an extremely handsome building which is sumptuously and cleverly furnished. The rooms are all different; we prefer to be in the main part of the hotel but there are some very private suites with hot-tubs and pools only a short walk away. On our last visit we were delighted to be offered an upgrade to a magnificent suite which has well and truly spoiled us! But location, architecture, decoration and furniture are only half the story, for any hotel. The key is the warmth of the welcome, the efficiency and willingness of the service and the quality of the food. In these respects the Son Net outperforms almost every hotel we have been to. The staff are fantastic and seem genuinely keen to do all they can to make your stay exceptional and memorable. Whether it is soaking up the sun on their really comfortable sun beds by the pool, whilst enjoying the view and a cold beer, or enjoying the most fabulous lunch in the Gazebo being royally looked after by Alberto and his team (and Sven's pasta is to die for). Or being pampered in the magnificent restaurant situated in the old Olive Press after warming up with one of Jose's legendary G&Ts. All are amazing. I have read the negative/terrible reviews and don't recognise in any of them the hotel that we have stayed in. Of course things can go wrong - no-one is perfect - but I would have every confidence in the Son Net team putting things right quietly and courteously. We shall continue to look forward to our all too brief visits. It is one of a very small number of destinations where we both feel completely relaxed.
