I recognise the Spanish worship children, but I did not expect this to stretch to having two cots placed against the (headboard) wall of our room because the double next door was occupied by a family with two small children. we asked to be moved, and were refused. The children cried all night, every night against my head. And we were told we were the antisocial ones for complaining. At this price, its surely not unreasonable to expect people to pay for family rooms and not disturb other guests.

Son Net, the grand dame in the mountains, is the perfect spot for hauling in for 7-10 days. Check-in and let the staff take care of you and within days for mind starts the process of slowing down. Lunches which began at 13 and lasted 30min, soon starts at 15 and is never-ending. Dinner, just sit back and relax, its all happening. And always with the mountains partaking. Son Net is a state of mind.

This hotel is so very lovely. We enjoyed every moment. We took the back road from port Andraxt to Puigpunyent. That was something! Very winding narrow roads up and down the mountains. The hotel sits in top of a hill. Best of views. Rooms are delicious and the staff fantastic. Restaurants have terrific food. Over, we'd go back in a flash. Took the main roads back to Palma, faster and less stressful.

This was our second visit to the Son Net, after nine years, and we liked it more than ever. It is a very easy place to stay. The hotel is flexible and the staff are universally friendly and helpful - Joseph on reception and Miguel on the bar stood out from a very high general standard. And the place is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of space and places to sit and relax. The rooms are large and very comfortable Even the other guests were friendly and interesting. There is a big pool with plenty of sun loungers, a useful poolside bar and a lovely pool restuarant for decadent boozy lunches. Perfect. The main restaurant was good (the lamb was fantastic) but not cheap. However a short stroll gets you to the local village which has a number of restaurant options of various standards and the hotel is happy to make table reservations. La Vila was our favourite. The location is good - Palma is close and lots to explore in the mountains and beyond. It is tough to think of negatives but I imagine some people would object that no one rushes out to take your bags when you arrive. Not an issue for us. We had one housekeeping problem which was happily resolved with profuse apologies. A fabulous place for when you just need to get away for a bit of luxury.
