Wife and Self stayed for a week recently in a de luxe room and, after previous glowing reviews, I am almost reluctant to make criticism. However, I do have some points, which others might consider when judging vfm of the hotel. The Gran Son Net, small luxury, boutique or whatever, sells itself as a 5* hotel. Certainly, its prices reflect that view. The location and building itself cannot be faulted. Our room was spacious and well equipped. Housekeeping was to a high standard. The grounds, pools, cabanas et al are splendid. We found most of the staff to be helpful and obliging on an individual basis, with a good command of English. However, we often observed a collective lack of guidance from a seemingly invisible management. The food was averagely good, but mostly overpriced for what it was. I might have expected someone to look after our bags on arrival and departure, rather than self-service. My bedhead was quite heavily stained, as was the cover of the arm chair. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Although one accepts the age of the building, there are several areas where plaster is peeling away from the walls. I accept that these are relatively small points in themselves, but overall one would not expect such deficiencies in a 5* hotel, hence the grading of VG only.

we had read about the Gran Son Net in a few travel mags over the years and when we had a sail trip end in mallorca we planned to try it. While the reviews we had seen were glowing ,I can say they did not prepare us for the beauty and elegance of this hotel. The setting of the pool overlooking a valley below and the moon rising above was breathtaking. The comfort and size of the rooms made leaving difficult. Even better was the tree house restaurant where we sat high above and had a gourmet meal I would expect more in provence. The staff was attentive ,yet not intrusive. Having been fortunate to have stayed at some of the world's great hotels from villa d este to auberge de soleil, I would rate this as a comparable .

Came for a wedding and fell in love with the hotel. Away from the beaches and away from the crowds, this oasis of tranquility is located a bit inland and surrounded by a crown of hills. A very old building turned into a luxury boutique hotel. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable with great beds and well appointed bathrooms. Great food and wonderful service, including the the meal and party for the wedding.

(Background music in the bar and restaurant inside would make it a bit more inviting)

We stayed 1 night for a getaway from Palma. Really nice interior decoration, lots of paintings and friendly staff. Lovely dinner overlooking the mountains, and nice swimming pool. A true 5 star hotel. The standard room were fairly small and dark. And we had the suite which was very nice and spacious. Definitely recommended.
