Reviews for The Reluctant Panther Inn and Restaurant
Another wonderful stay at this charming hotel with one of the gracious staff and very knowledgeable about the area They set up our entire Thanksgiving stay with reservations at various restaurants and a complete list of things to do Great food at the Panther restaurant and fine wines and cocktails Can’t wait for next trip back there Bravo to staff from reception to dinning to house keeping to room amenities
Been to this establishment twice for dinner during 2 different seasons over 1-2 years. Management responses uneven both times. Dining room was half empty during busy season, tipping us off...waitstaff pleasant and knowledgeable, but food was overhyped--not terribly imaginative. Wine list poor. Overall dinner experience substandard compared with other establishments in this popular tourist destination. Small bar cute but recently visited there for a drink. Wine list has gone downhill and the prices uphill, the bar wreaked of cigarette butts, and the bartender not attentive. New management with an overly attentive general manager. Not a good experience. Have not stayed overnight, but the room prices are very high for the region. Several other choices with better dining/drinking experience nearby.

Lovely venue for a family reunion. Food is amazing, the town is surrounded by the Green Mountains. It is peaceful and beautiful. And luxurious. The people working at the Panther are friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

My wife and I ate here while visiting Manchester, VT. The restaurant is in an old colonial house that also includes an inn. The restaurant was not crowded, as we were there in the shoulder season after leaf peeping and before skiing. It was very quiet, which was a pleasure. Even though there is no dress code, people were dressed nicely and the restaurant had an upscale feel. The restaurant has two fireplaces. Service was very good and prompt. The wine list is excellent. The selections by the glass was also very good. We both enjoyed our dinners. Prices were a little on the high side, but that is to be expected in a tourist town. There is also a small bar and lounge area.

My husband and I stayed at the Panther for 2 nights! I can't say enough about this charming inn. We stayed in the 'Fallen Spruce' room which offered a scenic view of the pond and mountains. Our room had a gas fireplace which was fantastic since it was chilly. Beautifully decorated room that was meticulously clean. The common areas of the inn were also beautifully decorated and cozy. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We did not eat dinner at the inn, but the breakfasts were delicious. The location is minutes from downtown Manchester. There are other restaurants conveniently located within walking distance. We will definitely be returning!
