Alex, our concierge at Gaia Resort, was the most attentive and welcoming host ever. Alex went out of his way to explain to us that whatever we needed would be possible at Gaia. The entire welcome visit at the front office, as well as our resort tour experience at Gaia was simply beyond expectations. I am so very grateful for Alex’s expertise and knowledge. It’s so important to understand that to truly learn about Costa Rica, you need to immerse yourself in the true culture of the area, and Alex helped us tremendously through this process. Pura Vida. Jose made our trip absolutely amazing. He took care of us from the second we arrived until packing an early morning breakfast for us on the day of our departure. To come to such a beautiful hotel and have a personal concierge as great as Jose made our stay truly amazing. The hotel was also luxurious and beautiful with great food and amazing views. We also absolutely loved our Suite with balcony overlooking the ocean. Definitely would recommend. Pura vida! -Brian and Kailey

No doubt the view was outstanding but the food, not so much. It was overpriced and pretty basic and for the most part, most of our group didn't finish what they ordered. The ambience is outstanding but the staff was having an off night and service was less than attentive. The bar upstairs is a mess -- very few table or chairs, weird set up and only one small bar with one bartender to try to manage everyone up there. Not our best evening ...

As we drove to not the Gaia hotel property, we were greeted by a pair of flirtatious Scarlet Macaws in a tree above. I was mesmerized. This is one of many magical moments that occurred during our stay. The highlight of our stay was learning about the Gaia Scarlet Macaw Project and witnessing the re-introduction of these glorious birds back in Manuel Antonio. The other parts of the hotel were equally glamorous. Our concierge Alex was extremely attentive. The Luna restaurante served delicious food and the best papaya/mango margarita. The personnel were extremely helpful and friendly, The free shuttle to the park was an asset. But overall, the birds were the highlight. Right from our balcony, we saw toucans, tanagers, macaws, and more. Finally, we got to meet the owner, Mr Boris, who turned Macaw dreams into memories. We will return!

Beautiful area. Room was very nice. Staff was wonderful. Alex was a great concierge. Very helpful answered all of our questions, helped us book a tour. Bell staff was very tentative. Food in restaurant was great. Got to see some wildlife near the hotel.
