5star-can’t beat the special experience
We had the most wonderful time. The team was so helpful getting from rooms to beach and pool in a luxury golf cart. Walkways around the resort are super steep so just be prepared to call golf cart :) The food was incredible and it made it even better when monkeys were all around you. We were eating breakfast watching a sloth and her baby! The rooms are giant and well furnished and anything you need is at your fingertips!!! Highly recommend!

Makanda is an absolute gem! What a beautiful and unique resort in Manuel Antonio! The unique and gorgeous details are everywhere! It is a showstopper!!! The bed was so comfortable! The staff made my husband and I feel like royalty! This resort is worth every penny!

An Exceptional Poolside Bar Experience
Mr. Elias Mendez was our bartender at the saltwater pool bar and truly impressed us with his amazing cocktails. He was friendly, attentive, and always made us feel welcome, turning every visit into a delightful experience. We highly recommend stopping by his bar

Beautiful hotel
The experience at this hotel was unique. We spent two days to celebrate a birthday and anniversary. While doing the check in Karen gave us an upgrade for the celebrations . We met Leo, the manager and when we went to our room found a sparkling wine bottle and dessert to welcome us. The manager, the recepcionist and all personnel we met were all kind and made us feel welcome. The hotel is beautiful, very nice rooms, bedding, amenities, etc. etc. Recommended 100%

My husband and I stayed here and it was absolutely amazing. Often the pictures on the website are an exaggeration of what you get, but that was definitely not the case here. In fact, the pictures really do not do it justice. Breakfast was served in the room a la carte each day and we could sit out on the balcony and just enjoy the privacy and clean air. It was wonderful!
The staff was very helpful, and the resort felt very private,
with few people staying there. We felt like royalty the entire time.

My wife and I stayed at Makanda and frankly, we fell in love with the place. Its very laid back and beautiful. The suites are huge and lovely. At the end of every day, we'd float around in the swimming pool with a drink in one hand, watching the sun set, with a troop of Howler monkeys in the trees over our heads. Talk about romantic! The area had enough to keep us busy (we did a guided tour of Manuel Antonio Park, a zip line tour and a mangrove boat tour) and there are several top restaurants nearby, including the one at the hotel, which is outside, near the pool. I recommend Makanda by the Sea very highly.
