TRULY THE BEST HOTEL IN MANUEL ANTONIO
No need to look any further, this is the place to stay! Makanda is one of a kind and the wild life was seen all within, no need to go anywhere. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. The room/decor is exactly as advertised, if not better!

Unparalleled Luxury
When you are ready to be pampered this is your spot. Quite stunningly beautiful grounds and lots of wildlife abound, we saw monkeys all over, and some sleepy sloths moving about. Every detail is considered at this resort. The food is outstanding and home made items top the bill, with fresh ingredients. If you choose to go to the beach, there is a nice little watering hole there, where you can get cold bubbly and soft drinks without having to move.....we loved this. The room was super comfy and a view to die for, we had an Ocean Suite. The one thing they never say here is "no"....the make ever effort to do whatever needs to be don to make your stay the BEST. This resort has two breathtaking swimming pools, one a salt water pool, both with full bars so you can enjoy Happy Hour every day between 4-6pm. The architecture and unique features makes this resort a fun discovery wherever you go on the property. There are many resorts here near Quepos, but I can guarantee this one is the most beautiful. So many thanks to the staff...Valentina, Jessica, Byron, Eli, Alfredo, Christopher, Alex and Luis. Kudos to Leo the onsite Manager.

Wonderful Secluded Oasis
What an amazing hotel. The staff are so friendly and the view is one of a kind. We saw so many animals outside of our room. I would highly recommend this place. The food was amazing. I believe there are only around 30 rooms on property so nothing ever felt crowded.

Perfect honeymoon spot!
Makanda by the Sea is a great honeymoon spot because there is so much to do but it’s quiet and secluded. We can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic hotel, in a beautiful location! The facilities at the hotel are absolutely stunning. The pool areas are so peaceful and beautiful. Lounging in a swing over the pool looking out to sea with a cocktail in hand, watching parrots fly across the sunset, with monkeys swinging through the trees and a sloth sitting in the tree above - what more could you want!

My husband and I stayed here and it was absolutely amazing. Often the pictures on the website are an exaggeration of what you get, but that was definitely not the case here. In fact, the pictures really do not do it justice. Breakfast was served in the room a la carte each day and we could sit out on the balcony and just enjoy the privacy and clean air. It was wonderful!
The staff was very helpful, and the resort felt very private,
with few people staying there. We felt like royalty the entire time.

My wife and I stayed at Makanda and frankly, we fell in love with the place. Its very laid back and beautiful. The suites are huge and lovely. At the end of every day, we'd float around in the swimming pool with a drink in one hand, watching the sun set, with a troop of Howler monkeys in the trees over our heads. Talk about romantic! The area had enough to keep us busy (we did a guided tour of Manuel Antonio Park, a zip line tour and a mangrove boat tour) and there are several top restaurants nearby, including the one at the hotel, which is outside, near the pool. I recommend Makanda by the Sea very highly.
