The first impression of any hotel is so important and the Gran Melia did not disappoint in this respect. Very welcoming even at a lateish hour and a speedy check in. The most notable thing with this hotel is the courtesy of the staff. Always helpful and attentive to the customer's needs. The beds were as comfortable as you could wish for and the bed linen and in particular the pillow choice were excellent. I wish I could say the say the same for the aircon which I found difficult to control and not very efficient Breakfasts were fine with a good if not extensive choice. The lady cooking eggs and omelettes want out of her way to provide me with poached eggs. Apart from the aircon I have two other complaints. There is in my opinion no excuse for not supplying a complementary courtesy tray for tea and coffee and even biscuits. It would cost little and do a lot for goodwill. The other complaint is a personal one. I have to use a stick and I found the steps from the hotel to the paseo to be difficult but this could be overcome by a proper hand rail all the way down. Would I stay again? Definitely.

Unless you upgrade you don't get a balcony. The hotel was nice and staff very friendly and the hotel manager was there if you needed him. Location was really good and lots to do nearby. Also great shopping facilities. The breakfast was good and a lot of choice catering for all needs. Although I thought that it was slightly overpriced given the melia Victoria is 5 star and a lot cheaper in Palma And just the same service we also had a balcony. However you will enjoy Unless you upgrade you don't get a balcony. The hotel was nice and staff very friendly and the hotel manager was there if you needed him. Having just returned from the Gran Melia Don Pepe, having spent the Easter period on holiday with friends. I am very familiar with this hotel having stayed many times. The position is good, having an indoor and outdoor pool and being in beautiful gardens. They have a pool bar and also through the gardens a cappuccino bar, which is very popular with views of the ocean. Abel one of the red service managers is charming and cannot do enough to ensure you have a good stay as do the staff on reception. The rooms are very nice having recently been refurbished , the beds etc very comfortable. Finally, the breakfast the selection is wonderful, you can even have champagne if you so wish. Thank you all the staff at this hotel, you made our stay truly memorable and our friends throughly enjoyed their experience.

Stayed here for 4 days as a birthday treat from my Fiance. Booked a Superior Sea View Room which was lovely, however view was spoiled by a large tree directly in centre of our view, therefore definitely not a full sea view. Hotel wasn't full when we checked in so quite annoyed that we'd paid extra for this room type and they put us in a room in the middle of the hotel, rather than in another Superior Sea View Room with no impeded view towards the sides of hotel. On late check in at hotel, we stood & waited for approx 10 minutes to be attended as the male behind the desk was on the phone & continued his lengthy conversation with no acknowledgement of our presence. Eventually he attended to us, with no apology for the delay. No glass of Cava offered to ud on arrival, as stated on hotels website and not the outstanding welcome we had been expecting. Because our stay was for my birthday, a complimentary bottle of fizz and chocolate dipped strawberries were awaiting us in our room which was a pleasant surprise. A few other niggles throughout our stay - asked for orange juice at breakfast & it didn't arrive, asked for tea at breakfast & it didn't arrive, asked for a drink by the pool & it didn't arrive so had to repeatedly get attention of staff & ask again for things which was extremely disappointing. Hotel was not full so no excuses for this level of service. Hotel itself is stunning but the service was somewhat disappointing and on reading the other reviews, I don't share the opinion that the staff were outstanding or overly attentive. For a hotel of this class, I was expecting much more.

Great hotel, great facilities, great service, we booked with the hotel direct and got a voucher of food and drink for each day which was taken of room bill at end of stay. If you want a complete sea view you need to be on level 3 or above.
