Reviews for Capella Marigot Bay Resort & Marina
This hotel is in the most wonderful location but has absolutely pants management. on arrival room not cleaned, very poor breakfast buffet selection especially the continental offerings. whilst sitting down having breakfast a maintenance man was jet washing adjacent pool deck and we were occasionally sprayed with water, waitresses were totally oblivious to the problem and the maintenance man was quite indignant when told of the problem, why on earth would a pool terrace be power washed 20 feet from where guests are sitting down having alfresco breakfast,it beggars belief!! I saw a guest being escorted to the breakfast buffet area to be told what was and wasn’t included in the the continental breakfast price, unbelievable!! The gym is not worthy of such a title. Went to use the rubbish bin in my room earlier and it was full of rubbish from previous guests! I couldn’t possibly recommend this hotel to any friends or colleagues which is a shame as it’s only the pants management which lets it down.

Like everything one reads on Trip Advisor it falls to the old saying, you can’t please all the people all the time! We have been here for almost two weeks, and unless you are an Uber fussy individual there is very little to complain about. The staff here are exceptionally well trained, friendly, and personable. During our stay my wife was taken Ill with a stomach bug. These things happen but when away from home they are more of a worry. Our personal assistant offered to call medical assistance, (although this was not required), she called twice a day every day to check my wife’s progress. Large amounts of bottled mineral water were delivered to our room to help with her recovory, and generally, and genuinely there was care an concern taken to see that we were well looked after and felt reassured. We were treated with great care and respect, which was both reassuring and appreciated. The hotel is well situated in well tended tropical landscaped gardens. The rooms are spacious, and well maintained. Food in the restaurants is good and service is prompt and polite. It’s true to say that there is not a nearby beach. However, it must be bourne in mind that St Lucia is a green and lush island with steep mountains and rock cliffs that boarder the sea. It’s beutiful island, but if you are looking for expansive white sand beaches, then Antigua is more for you. However, don’t let this put you off. St Lucia is a beautiful Island. The people are the warmest and friendliest people we have ever met in years of travel to the Caribbean. As stated at the start of this review, if you are mega fussy you will find a few bits to pick at. Fussy people always do. But if you are looking for a nice hotel, good spacious rooms, excellent customer service, and a peaceful and relaxing holiday, then look no further than here.

a great hotel and location with VAST rooms (unnecessarily so) -who needs a full Utility room and kitchen on holiday. great staff-good pool. if you are into super yachts this is your sort of place as they dock right outside and share the facilities. The down side; Food is a joke-all packaged supermarket ingredients! when you look at the prices you are paying with 20% additional tax and service you weep. breakfast was Supermarket bread and choice of 2 cereals with a few fruit in an island abundant with exotic fruits. when we moved to Anse Chastanet we could not believe how fresh and varied the food was compared to here. The beach! disgraceful! this is a tiny public beach and on 2 visits we could not find any hotel staff but were pressurized to hire facilities from locals. Even when we found the hotel beds (not marked) we were approached forcibly by a local demanding money for the umbrellas because this was his and not the hotels. The beach is dirty and you are approached by locals trying to sell you things. The hotel could so easily sort this out as we know ALL beaches are public but when we went to T Kai hotel beach and Anse Chastanet it was obvious what was hotel and what was not! the nearest proper beach is Anse Cochon (T Kai Hotel) but this is a 80 $ round trip

First, the entire staff is super friendly, helpful, and delightful to be around, even the gardener is rich in friendship and willing to assist. At the end of the stay, all staff members at the front desk will come out front and wave good-bye to the car, in unison, like bobble-headed dolls. Cute, makes you laugh as you wave good-bye back, but . . . It is a nice touch and memorable (torn). The pool and pool bar is a wonderful way to engage the senses; the chaise lounges feel as though there's a bar across the lounge part and it hurts the butt, so you slouch to relieve the pressure (torn). There are a couple of orange ones around that are bar-less-feeling; the steps are many to get around the property, there are no elevators, but we needed the exercise and that was okay, just something you should know if you're short on stamina and haven't been taking yoga classes. The marina is beautiful and filled with all manner of luxury yachts. No beach (torn). Speaking of yoga, I brought my yoga mat, but was told by the hostess who showed us around the property that the yoga teacher had some problem and was away. I found on Friday morning that yoga was offered Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays by a second teacher. I happened to be at the gym when the class started and would've loved to have taken classes while away from home (torn). Wipes are needed in the gym, the equipment is rather aged. There are mosquitoes, so be aware and cautious. They have a great DEET-free inspect repellent, but I came home with bites all around my ankles, a few on my arm and a week later, I'm still itching. There is beautiful mosquito netting canopied over the bed (torn by what it suggests). We had a garden view room, maybe the third floor would've been a better choice, but you have to get there through the botanical gardens. They are beautiful (torn again). The floor in our room as well as the bathroom was not so clean. My yoga mat was filthy when I decided to wipe it down before packing it in my luggage. My husband dropped something on the floor in the bathroom and I decided to clean it up, totally black with dirt. I was surprised because everything is so beautiful to look at and our personal assistant was, also, friendly, but we never got her name. I was torn about whether to include the dirty floors in this review, it may have only have been our cleaning person. We had nice white robes, white slippers . . . and dirt (torn). The hotel will give you anything. Water, soda, beer, turn down service, an evening free snack- just enough to keep you sophisticated, tea, coffee, whatever your little heart desires. The television is a little wacky (torn), the room was too dark to read a book (torn), the lights are exceptionally dim and a great way to keep mosquitoes alive if you're a Buddhist!

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we were looked after by the most lovely team of staff. The Reception team, the Personal Assistants, the porters, even the room attendants (who left us cute little notes each day), all went out of their way to make sure that we had the most relaxing time possible. Staying in a gorgeous 2 bedroom apartment right up at the top of the resort, we had a huge balcony with our own hot tub, which we had views from across pretty much the entire bay. It was stunning. We found the food in the resort really quite expensive, and not necessarily that great quality, so be prepared to pay over and above what you would expect, but other than that, you will not be disappointed by Capella Marigot Bay. I will be recommending it to all of my friends!
