Reviews for Capella Marigot Bay Resort & Marina
We came to St Lucia for a winter getaway from the northeast. It was an easy JetBlue flight from Boston and we used Kriss Luxury transport from the airport. We went to the Capella booth at the airport and avoided all the bedlam and craziness of trying to find a car or a driver as they brought the car right up to the curb for us. After about a 75 minute ride we arrived and were met at reception with a drink and an easy check in. Chris was our personal assistant that walked us to the room and showed us around the property. He was always around if we needed something for the entire stay but never intrusive. The room was a beautiful 2br with all the amenities you could want. Bed was overly firm. Turndown service was nice as was the afternoon treat each day. As previous reviewers have said the staff makes this place stand out. Beautiful views of the bay, yes, but the people, like Shevie at breakfast, Davia at dinner and Zena and Angel at the pool make this place incredible. Everyone smiles and greets you, and many remember your name. Must be a Capella thing! The hotel was convenient for touring with a quick ride to the north for Rodney Bay and Castries, or to the south for the Pitons and the Baths. As an FYI we rented a car at the resort and the driving was an adventure. The condition of the roads were bearable but the $18 extra for the GPS was useless. Turn left on the road was the instructions. Not helpful. We got lost at least twice but locals were more than happy to get us back on track This was a beautiful island with great people and nice weather. We loved this hotel.

Everything about the Marigot Bay Resort was great. We were a family of four visiting St. Lucia for the first time. The place was so relaxed and self contained, we could not have been more please. It is a bit far from some of the popular tourist spots but the idea of being at this resort will be to just spend time at the pool or walk along the marina and enjoy the scenic setting.

The staff make this place. Always happy and smiling. On the first day I inevitably had questions and needed directions - the staff would take me to where I wanted to go. Really excellent bar staff and and in the restaurants Excellent large pool - and a smaller quieter one. Good gym - lovely young Americans always there - so polite. Good deck [and secret tree house] to practice pilates/yoga/tai chi. Loved the tranquil spa and good massage. Food and drink are expensive - but food was good. The hotel straddles the harbour - good views of the super yachts! - but Marigot Bay is a lovely setting. It is the perfect hotel - not too small and not too big - plenty of areas to sit and to be comfortable, lovely well-kept gardens. My only gripe were the English guests at the hotel who annoyingly got up at the crack of dawn to reserve 4 prime sun loungers but did not occupy them until after 11 am ! [this then extended to a bed as well as there was a baby in the party and one of the parents/grandparents took it in turns to go from the sun longer to the bed to entertain the baby...] other guests were suitably shocked by their behaviour.

Stayed for a week at the beginning of February. It is a beautiful property with lush, beautifully maintained gardens everywhere, Set on the Marina with Jaw-dropping yachts as a backdrop to provide stunning views. Our one bedroom suite overlooking the marina was perfectly appointed. Very comfy bed, with Pratesi linens and heavenly pillows. Double closets with lighting. Ample drawer space. Wood floors and shutters. 2 Decks and private hot tub. Fabulous Large bathroom (my favorite part) 2 sinks with huge amount of space for toiletries on each side. Aqua di Parma products provided. Perfect magnifying mirror. Excellent walk in shower with rainhead and hand held, excellent pressure. Bidet. Plenty of fluffy white towels and mats provided. The standout for this hotel is the service. we were cared for and pampered from the moment we arrived until our parting moment. The personal assistants are second to none. They go out of their way to anticipate and fulfill all your wants and needs. Thanks so much to Chris, Christa, Denise, and Sarah. You were all fantastic. Carlene at the front desk with your beautiful smile and lovely manner. Diane and Alisha and all the servers who so warmly greeted and served us at Breakfast each day. The property is stunning with 2 relaxing pools. The loungers are set up with many umbrellas and small tables for the complimentary drinks and snacks they pass around periodically during the day. *One small comment to management- Please add more pads for the loungers. There are not enough for all the chairs and they are so much more comfy with them. This would also avoid people "reserving" them from early in the morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and came home so relaxed and happy. If you stay here you will be treated so well and won't regret your choice! Miss this place already!! See you next year for certain! Capella Marigot Bay is a beautifully maintained Marina resort tucked away in a far off land where everybody knows your name. We arranged for transportation through the resort prior to landing there. An Audi truck picked us about and ventured us thru the rain forest to Marigot bay. The car was clean and the driver was nice and courteous. It took us about an hour and 15 minutes to get to the resort due to the windy roads. If you get car sick easily be ware. There is an option to take a helicopter from the international airport to the Castries airport and then a 15 minute taxi drive to the resort. But... the helicopters seem to require a minimum of 4 people and they will cancel at will (not affliated with the resort) We had a beautiful one bedroom penthouse for the week. Definitely worth the extra money for the space. What I loved most was the view of the dock and that you can open almost all of your balcony doors for an open air concept. Our room attendant was fantastic. The pool area was really nice and clean. All of the staff at the pool were very nice and attentive. One particular employee that always went above and beyond every day was Zena. When booking this resort I wasn't aware of the lounge/cushion chair issue or I wouldn't have booked this resort honestly. The majority of the pictures you see of the pool area are pictured with cushions on the lounge chairs. As soon as we sat on the lounge chair I knew trying to lay in it for the week was going to be grueling task especially for my husband who has had three back surgeries already. I went looking for cushions and learned that there are only about 10-15 cushions to spare. Zena was nice enough to grab 3 cabana pillows to use in place of a cushion our first day. I then spoke with the personal assistant team advising them that I was shocked to learn that they didn't have enough cushions to spare for all the chairs and I wasn't going to be hunting down cushions every day. I did find out that there are cushions on order and the resort has not yet received them yet. The team ensured we had two cushions to lay on every day which was greatly appreciated. The food at Marigot is very good. We ventured out twice for dinner and were not pleased so we made sure we ate at the resort for the remainder of our stay.
