It is a real shame that I am writing this review. We went there for Christmas and I waited almost 4 weeks to write it as I wanted to wait to see how the hotel would handle this. The hotel is really well located if you go on a short break and want to make the oat of it. We rented a full Ryad and I would recommend that you do choose one that will be well located to get the winter sun. Ours, Fleur d'Oranger, did not get much sun at all. So for the price you pay to have your private pool, I would make a point for it. It was spacious and nicely decorated. We ended up having lunch at The Wardya restaurant next to the pool every day. Yassin & Yassine were excellent with us, great service and very courteous. Unfortunately, this stay has been darkened by the fact that two pieces of clothes disappeared from the dressing. Before making any false accusations, I waited to get back to London to check if I did indeed take those two pieces with me. The fact is that I did so I contacted the hotel and I have been in touch with Hitcham Halouani, Room division manager. He reassured me at first that an investigation will be carried out and they will surely find my two pieces of clothes. I have even sent a picture of me wearing one top. Well, I have been informed that after investigation, the personal who came to our Ryad were long serving ones so no suspicion at all, full stop. Which to me led to believe that me, the customer, I am the liar! So to date, nothing. It is not so much the value it is more about the fact that I have been robbed in such an establishment and they seem to think that this is ok. I won't be able to find those clothes anymore and I loved them. They were Hyppie chic style so beware!! It is a real shame as everything else was lovely, except the lack of sun in our Ryad. So I am afraid that I would rate the service as Poor since they did not handle my case very well at all to say the least.

In August (!) 2017 I have received a booking confirmation from the hotel for a stay end of December 2017 till January 2018. Although the booking was confirmed from the hotel ( and the room needed to be paid on departure) I got a mail December, 5th, from the hotel that -to make the booking safe- the hotel will charge the full amount for the stay in advance. No discount for this prepaid room rate was offered. Although already 3 years ago I filled in the registration form to become member of the Barriere hotel group. One year ago I have filled in the form again to become a membership bonus and advantages for this hotel where I have stayed several times. I have not received a bonus or advantage of the hotel because of my booking. Despite of that the hotel can see in their booking system who will arrive and if this is a frequent guest. Because of not (!) getting a discount for the prepaid room and not getting a Bonus from Barriere hotel group I have applied ( in a mail) for a meeting with the general manager. But I received no answer and send them a second reminder. Then I got informed in a mail from the reception manager that this meeting should take place on the day of arrival. On arrival this talk/meeting has not taken place and there was no message in the room. Upon arrival we got offered a cocktail. In the definition of the hotel this is a juice. In the bath tub we found a lot of fungi mould. This can damage your health. A security check will be done when you arrive in the hotel. But this is always not done in a secure correct way even when - after passing the gate - the system is making alarm. So I went to the reception and asked the staff if there is a message for me. But even there was no message for me and I only heard that the front office manager has left the house. The next morning I made a new appointment for this meeting. This meeting took place with the front office manager and another manager but not with the general manager. I got informed that the hotel is not willing to make any upgrade nor any discount for the prepaid room although the room should be paid when the check out would take place. I have insisted that this case should be discussed with the general manager which was confirmed. I was asked at what time we planned to return to the hotel in the evening to get informed about the decision of the general manager. We have informed him that we would return at 10:30 p.m. It was promised that we should get a message. On return there was no message at the reception and no message in the room. Next day we have had another talk. There was no excuse about having us not informed but we got offered to give us two more plastic (!!) bags for documents. See pictures which will be uploaded soon. When returning to the room we saw that a burglar has been in the room. It was impossible to close the balcony door at first floor. So we went to the reception and have asked the receptionist to give us a written confirmation that we cannot close the door. This is and was important to be insured/covered with our insurances. It was denied but he send us a housekeeper to repair the door and lock. The man has checked the door and he was unable to repair it. Again I have asked the receptionist to give us the written confirmation and again it was denied. I got informed that I can get it the next morning at 9:00 a.m. Of course nothing has happened. So we had breakfast with poor service: The young female server does not understand English very well. Orange juice was not served. Opposite the milk was served in two versions: hot and cold. The we went to the Front desk manager. Also he denied to give us a written confirmation that the door cannot be closed. Instead of this he send us another housekeeper with his female assistant. They were working 15 minutes to repair it. Then they wanted to leave us telling that the lock, frame and door is repaired. We wanted to see and to check it. Also they said that all is working in a correct way we saw that nothing was done. Still the door could not be closed. Because of this they needed to work another 15 minutes to repair it finally. Now it was possible to lock the door. What a pity that even after having done this work it was impossible to close the door in a correct way. Within 50 cm there is a gap of 1 cm!! So with the right tools you can still get inside the room. The reason is that the frame needs to get renewed! The evening before we left early next morning we needed to pay the bill. Then we needed to pay the tax: 50 â‚¬ for a stay of 6 days. As written before the room rate was already prepaid. The receptionist has offered a breakfast service next morning at 6:00 a.m. Of course the breakfast has not arrived till 6:30 a.m. Then we went to the reception to order a yellow cab taxi to the airport. Then one of the staff stopped 2 taxis which we should share with other guests what we rejected. Then another taxi was stopped. The driver does not wanted to use his taxameter. He wanted to get 100 Mad for this ride. We rejected this. Then the receptionist told us that we would not find a taxi with a cheaper price and we should accept it. We have not done it and stopped another taxi who wanted to charge 60 Mad what we accepted. This was another example that the staff here is not well trained and not well informed. Because of all of these experiences I cannot recommend this hotel. Of course we will not return here. We visited Marrakech over Christmas and stayed in one of the Ryads. Malika was a pleasure to deal with. It was incredibly quiet, spacious, and I loved the large terrace off our bedroom. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff very courteous. Le Naoura Barriere is very well located just outside the Medina and provides welcome tranquility after our day's excursions. The pool was long enough and the perfect temperature to swim laps. I wish the gym was open a little later!

Five of us got a suite with 3 double rooms and multiple living areas, really nice. Breakfast, bar and dining options all excellent, service was fine and adequate. Rooms w well cleaned every day. Location is really good, within a short walk to market square opposite the mosque.
1. The location is great, and the hotel is very clean. The big issue is the staff. It is comical how untrained everyone is. First of all, If you do not hang "do NOT disturb" sign, to this hotel, it means "please come in all the time without knocking". They will never knock on the door and just go in no matter what time. For example, they entered at 10 pm, and once at 7.48 am without knocking, then they are very surprised there are people inside. 2. Never take their cars, their prices are about 4 times more expensive than other transfers. Once I asked if anyone actually took their transfer and their response was "not really" 3. But the hotel is clean, and the rooms are big.
