Kasbah Agafay in Marrakech, Morocco
A spectacularly transformed, 150-year-old hilltop fort, Kasbah Agafay gazes across olive groves, desert hills and the Atlas Mountains, just 20 minutes from the center of Marrakech. This member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World provides unparalleled beauty and privacy. Massive ramparts shelter guestrooms, suites and the signature Caļdal tented suites featuring sculptured mosaic baths. Adorned with Moroccan artifacts and antiques, these luscious accommodations gather around inner courtyards dappled with splashing fountains.
Complementing this sanctuary is the Kssour Agafay, an exclusive private members club spread over three floors in the heart of Marrakech. This unique gathering place was originally an aristocratic residence owned by a noble Moroccan family. Restored to its original glory, it now caters to a bohemian crowd of international travelers and colorful local residents. A melting pot of cultures, it is a place to mingle, dine on tantalizing Moroccan cuisine and enjoy live musical entertainment in singular surroundings.
When you're not exploring the exotic bazaars of Marrakech, golfing, hot air ballooning, cycling or hiking to Berber villages in the nearby mountains, you may savor the tranquility of the al fresco spa, with its water fountains, meditation cave, shady courtyards and scented gardens--you can even hand pick the herbs for your treatment. Yoga lessons and camel rides are right at your doorstep. And if you'd like to learn more about the enticing flavors of local cuisine, you may take a cooking class in the property's own aromatic herb and vegetable garden.

Reviews for Kasbah Agafay
It's closed! But we still received a confirmation of booking. Not from the hotel itself but through a subsidiary. The money was taken from my account and we were left in the lurch on our holiday. The hotel owner (who we spoke to) did try to help but mentioned subsidiary's were still taking bookings.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Kasbah Agafay for the last two nights of a week long trip in Morocco. We were staying in one of their tents. It was strange to be in such a large property with very few guests. But I think that could of been due to the time of year we were visiting. After getting over the fact that we felt like the only people at the hotel we relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We spent the days laying by the pool. The breakfast and food is delicious. However with the restaurant being the only food option I would suggest reducing the price slightly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our tent was massive and lovely to stay in. The hotel grounds are beautiful. I do hope more people stay here as it is a wonderful place!

This was the perfect place to restore and revitalise. Wi-Fi was available but I declined to use as I was determined to live without 'electronic' distractions. The room was excellent, very spacious with exceptionally comfortable beds and air conditioning , which was very welcome after sight seeing or even just strolling around the beautiful gardens. The en suite was modern and very much larger than I expected with bath and shower. The food was delicious and plentiful and the staff were friendly, courteous and unobtrusive , the service was faultless. I was given the opportunity to enjoy some cooking lessons from the Chef and thoroughly enjoyed every minute and have since impressed my friends and family with my authentic Moroccan cuisine. There was nothing about this holiday that I could fault, I would return happily to this Hotel and thoroughly recommend it.

This truly stunning hotel took our breath away. We stayed for 4 wonderful nights. A beautifully restored fort in a magnificent setting, with views including the Atlas mountain range. The rooms are huge with authentic furnishings and the most comfortable beds ever! The only modern appliance is the wonderful air conditioning, an absolute must for a comfortable ambiance! Large bathrooms with bath and shower. We stayed in the fort and had our own private terrace. The tented suites in the grounds were also stunning, with four poster beds, sofas and fully equipped bathrooms they offer a unique experience. The pool is huge and cool with comfy sunbeds and parasols around. The staff were exceptional, nothing too much trouble and service delivered with a smile. Don't eat here if you're looking for McDonalds/KFC fare! The meals are true authentic Moroccan dishes and are delicious, healthy and a bonus if you are watching your weight. We couldn't manage all the food on offer yet still came home pounds lighter... We have never felt so relaxed after a few days away. This location would be wonderful for a celebratory function. There is a function room available with panoramic views to take your breath away. Cannot recommend this hotel enough.

We really enjoyed our time at Kasbah Agafay a Moroccan fort with a lovely peaceful authentic ambiance. Looking for a warm place to unwind and get away from the crowds we found we were more or less the only guests, which was perfect. On the Small Luxury Hotel Group's lists, it is both of those things (small and lux) and extremely good value. The suite we picked was wonderfully cool and had an amazing bath and bathroom (although the water pressure was v low) as well as a vast v comfortable bed. We were in the fort itself (you can take a tented pavilion suite if you prefer) with a door onto the ramparts from which to take in the views to the Atlas mountains. The food was excellent - tagine as you would expect, but prepared fresh and with delicious ingredients so never the same dish came out. It felt like you were experiencing home cooking Moroccan style, but that probably underrates it. It was always delicious. Breakfast was taken by the pool, and depending on the weather, dinner could be on the ramparts or in the dining room, or sitting on the sofas in the reception area. We also enjoyed a hammam for two, which started the trip off well and a massage in the spa. Very enjoyable. In short, the hotel is spacious, the rooms are cool and comfortable, the food authentic and the venue stunning. Would make a perfect place to hire for a 50th birthday party.
