Had dinner with friends at the Riad Kniza and it was fabulous. The building is beautiful with rose petals in fountains and on the tables. The open to the sky courtyard is great with a rubber tree in a corner. Two musicians were playing beautiful music as we came in. We had the set menu. Started with a chicken pastille which was delicious. Then came the salads. Seven different salads ranging from roasted peppers, pumpkin, watercress, eggplant, etc. All of them were wonderful. Ate so much that we really didn't want the main course. But then it arrived. Couscous with lamb. Also delicious. And the waiter served it with ceremony and style. Had white Moroccan wine that was very tasty. The waiter called our taxi and walked us out to the square. Wonderful night with delicious food and great atmosphere.

I seldom write reviews but Kniza deserves all the praise in the world. This is a fantastic property with a truly wonderful staff. I was the Director of Guest Services at a Ritz-Carlton and understand what 5* is, this is a true 5* property. They have not only meet my high expectations but far exceeded them. The Raid is beautifully cared for and restored, the rooms are both elegant and functional. I will never even look at another hotel to book when I come back to Marrakech. Thank you for making my trip special.

My friends and I spent 3 nights here in late June 17 after touring the Atlas mountains. First of all, the riad is very well located about an easy 10-15 min walk to the main square in the medina. Easy to navigate to and fro. The hotel itself is the ultimate luxury hotel. The rooms are spectacular (one of my friends had a suite) and decor is top notch. We met the owner and his son who showed us their soon to be opened art gallery and shop across the alleyway. That too is exquisite. The staff simply could not have been any better, and having stayed at many 5 * hotels, I am not an easy judge of good service. They were terrific. Riad Kniza should be #1 in Marrakech from my POV.

This Riad was just beautiful! Right from when they met us off our tour to organizing our ride to the airport, nothing was a problem. Food was delicious. Bed amazing. Nothing seem to be a problem. If I go back to Marrakech I will definitely be staying here again.

I traveled to Morocco as part of a large vacation I organized for myself that started with Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal. I didn't know if anything could get better than Dakar, but after spending a week with friends in Casablanca, a quick jaunt to Rabat -- and then finally making it to Marrakech (it's been a dream for me to visit this place) it did. Please make sure you do not stay outside the walls of the Medina. I say this if you are an adventurer at heart and prefer the true, authentic day-to-day life of the old city, as opposed to something with less personality (i.e., the surrounding "suburb" of the Medina). When my driver picked me up from the airport and drove into the medina, I literally didn't know what to expect. I lived in Jerusalem for two years and was very familiar with the Old City, but my arrival into the Medina was all sorts of amazing. When you walk into the Medina you're not quite sure what you are going to get into, but it was as if, once I turned that right into the alleyway, something magical happened! My room happened. I was beyond lucky and got the Royal Suite at an amazing rate. I found myself reminding myself to get out and explore, because with the amazing bedroom, spacious bathroom, and delightful little salon at the entryway, you could get comfortable and stay eating cookies and ordering tajine every day. But it's necessary to find those things outside the Riad Kniza too. Everything about this stay was fabulous, I had dinner my first night out on the roof -- by myself, with an amazing nighttime sky, several courses of food, and i was stuffed and loving it. It's so easy to get lost in the medina, but get yourself oriented with a guide (and use the GPS on your phone -- buy a SIM card as soon as you arrive). I tried to have cocktails and eat at different restaurants each day/night. I was drawn to La Mamounia on several occasions -- that place is a must-visit (go to the bar and order a Sir Winston Churchill). I also ate at La Maison Arabe -- know what you want and do your research, otherwise you will be overwhelmed. There is also a Carrefour City outside the medina, so you can buy your wine and other grocery items (if you want to watch your pennies -- as I did, when it came to wine). The riad, the medina, the experience was just magical and unforgettable. I didn't have enough money or suitcase space for everything I wanted to do and buy.
