Selman Marrakech in Marrakech, Morocco

Named after an Arabian stud who founded a line of thoroughbreds, the family-owned Selman Marrakech opened in 2013. State-of-the art technology hides discreetly behind Moorish design elements like Zellige tile, preserving the regal ambience of a sumptuous Berber palace. French architect Jacques Garcia also designed the accommodations housing the family's collection of Arabians.

Tour the stables and enjoy daily equestrian show. Sip champagne beside the heated 80-meter pool at the heart of the property and then sashay into the Selman restaurant for exceptional service amid an atmosphere of modern Andalusian decadence.

We are so glad we stayed here. This hotel was so luxurious, and downright gorgeous. What we loved though is it did not have the stuffy feel that some five star hotels have. Every single staff member was extremely helpful and the concierge was top notch. It is about 100-150 MAD and 10 mins to get into the Médina walls, but the hotel gets you a taxi whenever you need so it’s not too much of a hassle. There is really only one dinner option at the hotel, but we found the room service to be more than enough if we didn’t want to do a full sit down meal (also the rooms are so beautiful you don’t mind eating in them anyway). When you get to the hotel they give you a tour of the stables and Arabian horses. This tour was a highlight because the horses are stunning! There is a Sunday brunch that is 75 euros a person where the horses do a show, unfortunately we weren’t there for that but, had I known, I would have planned our trip around it. So if you are looking to have a fabulous, relaxing vacation I recommend this hotel 100%, but if you want a more authentic, bustling Marrakech feel then stay in the Médina. We had stayed in the Médina prior to staying at Selman and thoroughly enjoyed ending our trip on a luxurious note.

When we arrived at the hotel we were very impressed with the layout. It has a 70 meter pool so there is loads of space for beds around the pool. The rooms are very large and beautifully decorated, with a super comfortable large bed. Staff at reception were very helpful and the concierge with Yousef and Omar were excellent. The service round the pool was a little bit slow however we discovered on the last day that there is a remote button which we were only given on the last day. Asked for the button on the first day!

We stayed as a group of 2 couples in Sept 2017 and had just the most amazing time. We stayed in 2 of the suites and these are stunning. 2 doors, 2 bathrooms, 2 balconies, 3 TVs, massive bed etc. The whole hotel is based around an amazing pool of about 80m which was really relaxing to sit around in one of the pool beds and one of the pool guys would give you a buzzer which you press when you need another cold beer. Perfect, and Mohamed really looked after us brilliantly. The main restaurant was extremely good and Soufiane and his team really looked after us with great, friendly service. The Stallions were lovely, as was the spa, and a Moroccan Hamam cleansing scrub is highly recommended. All in all, a stunning place that we can't wait to return to

What a magical place Selman Palace hotel is. We had an amazing time at the pool and an excellent service from Mohsinne and Mohammed. Brunch was amazing too with great attention from Noredine and Kasem and dear Kawtar thank you so much for aranging the perfect engagement surprise for Steffi with the most beautiful Arabic horse show. We are going to stay here next time for sure as we found our new home away from home and lost our hearts and sealed our love here! ❤️

The property itself is quite stunning, from the well kept gardens to the horse stables. The decorations is splendid, blending Arab and contemporary style. Restaurants director is very welcoming and does a great job at thoroughly explaining things.
