Experiencing Africa at its Best!!!

Fantastic location in the Mara. Convenient to great the local airstrip and awesome animal adventures. We actually used this as the base for a visit to a Maasia Mara village - a great cultural experience. The accommodations were wonderful - what you would expect on an African safari but so much more. The food was fabulous along with the staff - meeting your every need. I would strongly recommend staying at this club.

Amazing. What more could you ask for? For our family, this had it all: beautiful lobby/bar/restaurant area with fireplace, outdoor seating, and decadent buffets for each meal. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who will go the extra effort to make it a great stay. Lovely tents with all the creature comforts. Remote location with very knowledgeable and engaging guides who get the vibe of the group. Outdoor pool! And I have been on many Kenyan safaris as I lived here for 5 years. Simply excellent!

Highly recommend

As soon as we landed at Ngrende airstrip, the Fairmont linked us up with the same guide/driver for our entire stay, which was a very nice touch. We really got to know Lenkoko (driver/guide) and Rose (waiter) - all of whom were absolutely amazing.  The room is clean and it is amazing to see giraffes just driving 300m off the gate.  Lenkoko who was born in Masaai had an incredible eyesight that he can see animals from 5-8 kilometers away therefore our party (I and my daughter) always had a privilege to see animals privately for a while before other parties comes.  We saw lions just hunted a wildebeest and eating it within 8m and 6 elephants very close.   There is a miscommunication on a balloon safari but the entire fairmont tried including Steven, Nancy, Samuel, and Lenkoko solved it in very pleasant way. I will definitely recommend this hotel.  Things I found during the stay are "The guide needs to know where animals are at that time and circumstances.  The more the guide knows, the more guests will see".   That being said, once off road from the mud major street the guide really needs to know to find animals.  If you choose a tour from Nairobi, the guide will know the major street but not sure about once off road and animals behavior.  Once you land in Masai Mara, you will not see paved roads.  Mud street is main and off road is really off from mud street :)

I dreamed of visiting this place and my dreams came true. It is MAGICAL. If you are going to Kenya, this is THE place to stay. Everyone is highly trained, professional and welcoming. The buildings are superb. The location is beyond amazing. The bar is great. The food is pretty good too. I couldn't find one thing to complain about. Seriously. Not ONE thing. Go. Have the experience of a lifetime. And stay here.
