Perfect girls getaway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

So easy to get to from Charlotte, NC. Beautiful property in the mountains of Virginia. Welcoming and warm staff. There is so much to do all the time - lots of hiking trails and activities. Great cocktails and food. It feels like a very authentic place when you are there.

Attention to Every Detail

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This was my second visit to Primland, and it reminded me all over again of how close to perfection a resort can come when that is their intention. It is the intention of Primland. From the immediately attentive and friendly valets and greeters to the already prepared check-in materials, every detail had been considered. The room had every amenity I could have wanted, and even a few more. But, the restaurant "Elements" is worth the stay just itself. The wait staff was knowledgeable, entertaining and attentive.

Well if you believe in dreams Primland is the place for you . The resort and experience is magical . Our cottage and cuisine was 5 star in the middle of the gorge . What’s place all I can say is magical. 5 star all the way. The service is by far the best I have ever had.

Time to Step it Up Primland

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We used to love going here but got sick of complaining about poor service when we’re trying to relax on a mountain retreat. Let me give you examples: -Pay $1k a night and ask for an ice bucket and the bellman suggests using the sink instead of thinking “Wow, I work at a top tier resort, I should probably get them an ice bucket” -They didn’t want to light the fire in the main lobby one night because it seemed too inconvenient. Just dragged their feet -2hr wait for dinner in one of the cabins. Brought wrong bottle of wine and/or wrong food 2x then we just gave up. -Had an amazing time golfing only to come home to a disappointed wife because her massage therapist was a no show. This should not happen at Primland I could give you several other examples but I won’t. Management will comp you at the end of your stay and apply credit towards a future stay. Then it happens again, starts to turn into an unpleasant cycle. Activities are great but ran separately which is good. I’d ask Auberge….if you want to charge just as much as an ocean view resort in Laguna Beach with an ocean view then that’s fine just don’t make us feel underwhelmed upon departure. Several of our friends in Charlotte feel the same way. Come on Primland, you’re better than that!
