We arrive at our favorite location in the Virginia mountains to discover that they are running on generator power. We were disappointed and were not going to be happy staying in the home we rented there. The manager- Marcus, immediately, moved us to the lodge and made our weekend extra special. Thank you staff! Marcus, Lucas,Michelle, and Cameron, as usual you are all awesome!

We enjoyed our silver anniversary weekend at Primland during a high wind event which knocked down trees everywhere including the power....and you never would have known it thanks to incredible planning and engineering. And just like their backup power systems, everything about this place is well thought out and designed to maximize luxury. This is an "all-in" financial commitment and would be tough to do on the cheap. My advice, don't skimp or you will miss what Primland is all about. The service is impeccable, the food is top notch, their commitment to supporting local businsses is admirable, and the subtle nudge to get out of the amazing bed and enjoy the outdoors is appreciated. Hiking, RTV riding, golf, sport shooting and on and on. You dont have to be an expert at any of these activities to enjoy them. Their staff excels at training and making you feel comfortable no matter what the activity. We stayed in a Blue Ridge Suite in the main lodge. The suite is amazing from the perfect bed to the 5 star resort bathroom to the crafty breakfast nook with a view, you will want for nothing. Room service is a must. Enjoying breakfast overlooking the golf course and mountains beyond couldnt be more perfect to start the day. Evenings grabbing a drink at the Pub bar and sitting by the two large fireplaces is an equally amazing way to end the day. This resort is operated by local people from all around the foothills of Virginia and Carolina and I have yet to meet a friendlier staff anywhere in my travels. Save your pennies, go all in and leave with an experience you wont forget. Thanks Primland! We will be back!

Where to begin: Pinnacle cottages are so delightful you never want to leave your room. Food and beverage outstanding. Service impeccable. Recommend RTV experience and observatory. Save time for a nice, leisurely hike in the mountains

My husband and I drove up to the expansive Primland main house/mansion on a multi acre property with complete awe. The main building resembles one of those houses rich people live in and hunt poor people on vacation. We thought we were going to be murdered. Much to our happiness, we did not die. Instead we were politely served and pampered from the moment we checked in when they offered my husband hard cider and preggo me regular cider in champagne glasses. The handed us the keys to our luxurious hotel room opened up to the Blue Ridge mountains from the main living area to the bathroom and deck and we immediately relaxed from the long drive. We did not do any of the tours or excursions and I can't speak to the offered activities. Snow was on the way which prevented us from seeing the stars through the telescope on the roof, so instead we relaxed at the pool and fire, played ping pong in the rec room, light lunch at the Pub, walked around the resort grounds. If you're staying in the winter, bring your own warm blanket/heat dish and sit out on the porch with snacks and warm drinks to gaze at the stars. We ended up ordering breakfast in bed and watched the fog lift from the mountains in the morning. My only complaint was there were not enough preggo-friendly dinner dishes available at the very pricey Elements. I picked a couple small dishes instead of a main dish, but left still pretty hungry.

Stayed at Primland for the weekend and had the most amazing experience. The views from our room were jaw dropping and the staff was beyond attentive and friendly. We enjoyed hiking, swimming, and horseback riding in between delicious meals and treats such as tea and cookies by the fireplace in the lobby. Cannot wait to return!!
