Reviews for Sofitel Melbourne On Collins
The standard for service in this hotel undermines the standard quality for Sofitel. When I requested for an upgrade to the newer suite room (I booked the prestige suite room) the way they handle the whole ordeal is unspeakable. I truly don't mind if you do not cater to my request upfront, as it is not mandatory. But don't lie about it; first they said there were no room available, then once I clarify online that there were room available they said, that particular room is only smoking room, then after I said, I will go and have a look, they finally said that room is not available and took it off from their website (supposedly all these decisions was made by the duty manager)...it is just beyond my understanding why they would do such thing, I am a privilege partner member as well. After that they actually lost the ice pack (for baby) that we kept with the housekeeping, they found it after half a day looking for it. The policy for the Sofitel lounge (club lounge) is also strange in my opinion, they would let you have any alcohol, beer and other beverages only from 17.00 -19.00, if you drop by after 19.00 you have to pay for what was given for free before 19.00. The only exception of good service were given by porter/concierge, they did their job really well, good service and good attitude. I guess my stay this time is less than manifique

It’s not often I get a complimentary upgrade however when it happens at the Sofitel there isn’t much better than an executive room on the 44th floor. The outlook of sporting precincts, art centre, fed square and the Yarra is come lamented by friendly staff, great food and an atrium to set the scene through the centre of the hotel. Take my advice and stay a night or 7 and take in the great sites of melbourne

Cleared customs after a long haul and grabbed a taxi at 10.30 am to the hotel expecting a long wait until check in. "We have a suite available now Sir. Please accept it with our compliments" I could have kissed them! The service from this hotel is exemplorary. Refined, polite and outstanding in every aspect. Just so hard to fault! It remains our favourite destination in Melbourne. Superbly located in the leafy end of Collins St and so handy to all that the CBD has to offer. Our suite was wonderful. Ridiculously spacious, spotlessly clean and views to die for. The fittings are starting to show their age just a little but that is a minor criticism. The bedding is superbly comfortable and the decor is conservatively elegant. Hotel facilities are excellent, service is outstanding. It really is a fine 5 star hotel and one we prefer to stay with. Highly recommended.

Located in the ‘Paris end’ of Collins Street, the hotel is within walking distance to the CBD, Gardens and major tourist attractions around Melbourne. Staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equiped offering breathtaking views of Melbourne. The 35th floor offers an excellent restaurant and lounge bar for relaxing and enjoying a quiet drink. For men, a visit to the bathroom on the 35th floor is also an experience not to be missed. Ideally suited for both business and leisure. Highly recommended for a pleasant and memorable visit to Melbourne. The Sofitel on Collins has maintained its exceptional high standards over the years and I have no hesitation to recommend this hotel to fellow travellers.

Beautiful setting overlooking the city and beyond from a twin room on the 43rd floor Décor in the room a little tired with scratched furniture - expecting an "upgrade" to be a little more larger in size - not just the views Breakfast arrival was met with a line of 20 people and when received by the staff - was told to wait (for another staff member) delighted to be taken into the Club Sofitel as a means of managing the overflow of people - appreciated
