Reviews for Stamford Plaza Melbourne
I stayed here this week for one night as I was going to the tennis. Even though check in wasn’t until 2pm, I arrived at about 9.30 and asked if I could drop off my car & bags. The staff were more than accommodating advising that I could in fact check in even though the room was not yet ready. When I first arrived I could not get a spot out front to pull up my car, so had to park further up the road. I spoke to the valet and he told me to drive around the block and he would ‘save’ a spot out front for me to pull up in, which I did and true to his word he flagged me into a spot out front, all the while being friendly and polite. I checked in and left for my day at the tennis. At around 1pm I received a text message advising my room was ready when I was. When I got back to the hotel at the end of the day, I went to get my room key & suitcase and was advised my bag was in my room. When I got up to my room I was blown away. The room was stunning! Gorgeous, Comfortable, Spacious, I could go on and on. Bonus for me was the spabath which was a welcome, most unexpected sight, at the end of a long day in the sun. My initial intentions were to have a swim in the pool, order some room service and stay in, but after seeing the spa, I had a bath and fell asleep in beautiful comfortable bed. There is nothing I could fault with this hotel, from the valet to the check out the whole experience was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful Definitely on my list to return to

We recently stayed at the Stamford Plaza in Melbourne for 2 nights and could not fault the service. Upon arrival the young lady who checked us in kindly allowed us access to our room early, as well as the added bonus of an upgrade to a King Suite! Michael, Assistant Concierge, was brilliant. His professionalism and attention to detail is an asset to the organisation! We were very well looked after.
I normally stay at the Stamford when visiting Melbourne and the service and standard this time was as good as previous trips. The only issue I have however is there is construction happening on the left hand side of the hotel so make sure you ask for a room on the other side. Jack hammers are operating continually so don't expect to sleep in. I realise this it totally out of the control of the hotel but it is disappointing that the hotel doesnt mention the construction on their website. Other chain hotels I have visited have placed prominent notices on their website which makes all the difference from a customers perspective. I'll probably try somewhere else next month.
This is the third time I have stayed here in the last 15 years and I have not been disappointed. We had a 2 bedroom suite and extra fold away which was great for travelling with 3 kids. Even having the 2 bathrooms made it a lot easier in the mornings and evenings. We had a small kitchen which we didnt use but would also be good for families. I booked a package through an external agency which included breakfast but somehow it only booked breakfast for the 2 adults. The hotel were very professional and courteous and allowed the kids to eat breakfast as well. The kids loved the glass elevators and the pool. There are currently building works just to the east of the hotel so some early morning construction noise. If you are worried book a room in the western tower away from the frontage to Little Collins St. An Easter Egg - there are 2 free washing machines and dryers in a small room next to the gym which are available for guest use.

This was my first visit to the Stamford and I was pleasantly surprised. For the quality, location and price we felt we got extremely good value for money. The queen suite was lovely with a separate lounge room and small kitchen. Perfect if you have partner who wants to stay up late watching Tv or a movie. The pool and spa were lovely and the roof opens on a nice day. I would definitely recommend the Stamford to anyone looking for a great hotel with a good price point.
