Oy, I really wanted to like this place. Walking in I was impressed with the beautiful lobby, until the woman at the front desk informed us that the hotel is undergoing a "massive renovation" and there was no restaurant or bar available. This absolutely needs to be something that's mentioned on their website and it's mentioned exactly ZERO times. Additionally, we received a strange phone call from the front desk saying engineers were coming up to "measure our windows." I told my partner who also thought it sounded weird after I'd hung up, and I called back - the front desk person had no idea what I was talking about. As two females in a hotel around an area that had criminal activity less than a week prior, we were totally freaked out. Eventually the front desk called back to clarify...AFTER the men arrived in the room (and they were legit - but a lot of confusion could have been avoided by ensuring all staff knew what was up. Lastly, The valet definitely seemed to be short-staffed, as we often waited to both hand our keys to someone or to pick our car up in an empty entryway. The best part about the place was the shower. The shower was amazing. Other than that, I was pretty disappointed. I'm hoping they can turn things around because the place has a ton of potential.

I booked a room last Fall and my plans changed, so I called to cancel the room. I spoke with the front desk and after a bit of confusion about which reservation was mine, she assured me it was cancelled. I didn't think anything else about it until a few days before when I was supposed to arrive, I received a welcome email. I immediately called them and they said they had no record of cancelling my room; however, they would cancel the room and I would not be charged (I got this in writing). well, of course upon looking at my credit card statement, I was in fact charged $465!! I have not ever been able to get anyone to answer my calls regarding this charge and am about to file a complaint with the better business bureau. Do not book a room at this hotel, they will steal your money!

We have stayed here several times and normally we are not disappointed. This time there was not a bar or restaurant. This coupled with a bed that should have been retired some time ago, led to this review. A $250/night room, with nothing more than a bad bed can be beat in a lot of places. We were in town for the Ameripolitan Music Awards. The location isn't worth the price, especially because there was NO food or beverage on site. Not to mention the sketchiness of the neighborhood. I felt more like I was staying in condemned area of Gotham City, with the police cameras everywhere and the cop cars and security in the streets during broad daylight. The room was nicely decorated and had the amenities advertised. The glasses in the room were dirty and had liquid stick stuck in them and the shower had mold all over the grout. The staff was incredibly friendly and did an amazing job of being accommodating for the additional requests that I had. Probably won't stay here again. I'd rather pay the extra $100 for a couple nights at The Peabody.

The hotel was empty but we were given a handicap bathroom.Giant drains in the floor and no curtain, the floor was very wet.The kitchen and bar was closed so it was very inconvenient. Thought we would get an apology or something. The doorman was never there.Would never go back...
