Reviews for Madison Hotel Memphis
We had a great stay in November 2017. The service was great and the staff members are so friendly and accommodating. Also the location is great. It's right in the heart of downtown and walking distance to the downtown sights of interest. I definitely recommend the hotel!

This appeared to be a nice old hotel in downtown that has been tastefully updated. But there is an alley with dumpsters right next to it so you'll be up at 5:00 AM when the trash haulers come (man, what a racket -- and there must be more than one hauler because it goes on for a long time). Also couldn't get the heat in the room to respond to my adjustments.

We arrived at about 10:45 PM after a long train ride from New Orleans and the security man sitting on the bench in front of the hotel didn't even acknowledge us or open the door for us or assist us in any way. We enter the lobby and don't see anyone so call out for someone to come help. A very pleasant woman comes to check us in, however, in the meantime, the phone is ringing and the woman repeatedly states that she is not going to to answer it even though it had been ringing the entire time we were getting checked in. We asked about getting food at this time and she states the kitchen usually closes at 11 but they closed early that night so the kitchen was already closed. We asked about getting food somewhere else and she responded that she didn't know. (a quick yelp search told me there was a place that served food late 450 feet away). The cleaning staff were hit or miss. The first day it looked like the room was cleaned but they didn't take away any of the trash. I had to call housekeeping to come get it. The next day was even worse. We went out for a day of sightseeing and came back to our door being left open by housekeeping. The staff there are quick to give free drinks or free food when a customer complains but it didn't seem like anything was being done to fix the problem. The restaurant is understaffed so there was a long wait for food and lots of dirty tables. I went down to use the gym and I thought I ended up in the maintenance area. There was a large piece of equipment outside the elevator, the carpets were filthy and there were big laundry baskets in the hallway. I could go on and on about the mishaps that occurred during my weekend stay at The Madison. I stayed at this hotel for a wedding expecting a 4 star experience and ended up having one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had.

Staff was very helpful and friendly on arrival. Room was very comfortable and plenty of amenities. Was given a complimentary upgrade at checkin which was unexpected but appreciated. Great experience as always and looking forward to returning.

When your in the customer service industry you rarely find great customer service that meets your expectations. I must say that everyone I came in contact with at the Madison went above and beyond to the call of duty to make my Wedding day one to remember. Deanna Cox, Taylor Masterson, and Ms. Ivy were the best. They took care of me every step of the way and made the hassle of the booking process seamless. The hotel is beautiful and we returned to our room on the night of our wedding and their was a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries!! Thank you all!!!
