We arrived at the Hotel for a Weekend Wedding at 5:45pm, our room wasn't ready. Nor was the couples room in line with us. From our weekend stay it was obvious that they are short staffed. Our next to the last night our room wasn't made up but after we brought it to their attention it was done while we were out to dinner. The hotel is allowing little things to decline. The door made noise when you opened it, the room has crumbs on the floor when we checked in, there were stains on the wall, little things but they add up. if they start watching the little things it will make for a really nice place downtown.

When we checked into the hotel an hour and a half after normal check in time, our room was not ready. This was super stressful and upsetting because 1) it was past the check in time and 2) we had to go to a rehearsal dinner. After arguing with the front desk staff, they finally let us get ready in another room, but then we had to bring our bags back downstairs and recheck in after the evening. We didn't even get offered anything so I asked about that and they gave us 2 free drinks from the bar... Other than this awful and stressful experience, the hotel was fine. It was clean and rooms were decent sized.

We stayed 5 nights at The Madison and mostly enjoyed it. Great location - handy to most attractions and some great restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly but the housekeeping standards seemed low. Glasses and mugs were not being cleaned properly so we had to ask for fresh ones a couple of times. On one occasion, we came back from a long day out at 4:35pm to discover that our room had missed being cleaned! We had to call and it finally got done around 5:30.
