Reviews for Madison Hotel Memphis
The Madison Hotel has rescued me for the second time. Once I had a reservation at another hotel but checked in very late and they had sold my room. Tonight they saved me again. After spending five nights and a good bit of money tonight the River Hotel decided to throw me out because I had a companion dog. I’m a 100% service connected disabled veteran. The Madison had no problem with my dog, were very welcoming. I’ve stayed at The Madison a few times and have always felt welcomed. The rooms are high tech with nice views.

We chose this location based on the proximity to the heart of downtown. We were pleasantly surprised. We all found the hotel to be excellent and service top notch. The restaurant was not open when we were there. Although they did contact us in advance to advise.

Under renovation.. no advice this case happening during booking..so disappointed as no restaurant or thec"famed" rooftop bar available but tariff remains high. Bit of a walk to Beale but does have streetcar nearby (wasn't working)
Memphis was the last stop of our vacation and the Madison Hotel was a great deal! The staff greeted and talked with us like old friends and answered all our “touristy” questions. The location was really good if you want to visit Beale Street (2 blocks away). We will definitely return to the Madison!

Stayed here with husband and son for 4 nights (2 rooms) for a family wedding. Booked several months ago, as our relative had reserved a block of rooms. One room was ready on arrival, one wasn't. Never told in advance that hotel restaurant was closed until we checked in, and at that point it was too late to go elsewhere. Reception was kind, understanding, apologetic and handed us a photocopy of nearby places that delivered. There was lemonade in the lobby during the day, fresh fruit and coffee in the lobby in the morning. I can't think of the last time we had to go outside of a hotel for breakfast, so this aspect was very disappointing. One room was not serviced after the first night (we did flag down housekeeping for new towels). Housekeeping was fine for the rest of our stay. Bath towels were small and of a thin hospital quality. Lovely stand shower with good temperature and pressure, but no evidence of exhaust fan. Wood blinds in the bathroom were massively covered in thick dust - which should be removed immediately - a poor choice to put in a bathroom with poor ventilation. Hotel location is nice, but there was continual jackhammering in the alleyway across from the hotel from 8am - 6pm, which was very disruptive. Room 402, should only be assigned to single travelers. Mattress is very uncomfortable. Room design makes it impossible to open closet door without blocking that side of the bed. Room safe is near the floor, one luggage rack was broken. Keurig machine with coffee and tea pod. Mini-fridge with soft drinks (didn't know if these were complimentary or not). All of the staff is very kind and service oriented but really there is no sense of management oversight of the property. Reception did say they were scheduled for refurbishment. .
