The Peabody Memphis is as well known for stupendous service and luxury living as it is for its marching ducks. The 13-story hotel and Memphis landmark opened in 1869 and has been a place of privilege ever since. Part of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, a member of the well-established Preferred Hotel Group, is located just two blocks from famed Beale Street and near the Peabody Place entertainment complex. Its collection of traditional rooms and suites, including pet-friendly accommodations, are elegantly appointed with rich hues and regal furnishings. Residents have a fondness for The Peabody, and the hotel's Memorabilia Museum documents its place in history through a series of displays.

If you are thinking about staying at the Peabody I wouldn’t. We are currently touring the USA on our honeymoon and came across the Peabody, offering 4 star luxury with a quirky duck parade. We paid over $300 for one night, a real treat as we travel through Memphis. We check in all was great, only to be greeted with a dirty bed and a dusty & dirty room. Our room was swiftly change, in our new room I peeled back the duvet to get into bed and was greeted with a large, mouldy stain on the sheet. (4 star luxury apparently) so off I went down to reception again, our room was swiftly changed to a ‘deluxe room’, so once again I peeled back the sheets to discover yet another stained sheet. So back down my husband went this time, to which he was told the head of housekeeping will come up to the room as we couldn’t go to any other room due to being ‘sold out’. We managed to get a measly 25% refund. If you like dark, dated and dirty this is the hotel for you

Scammed by reservations. False advertising of rates to only charge you double at checkout with outrageous fees. Buyers beware. Customer service was also poor at best. Hang out in the lobby for a drink to view the sites, but do not stay there.

Lovely hotel. Best staff ever. Duck show is a thing and not just for children! Rooms excellent, decor relaxed. Great food. Great shops. Great location. Cannot speak highly enough.

Ever since watching The Firm I’ve wanted to experience The Peabody Hotel. So when we flew over from the UK for a tour of Nashville and Memphis, I knew we had to check it out. We went to The Peabody on both nights and had a wonderful time. The bar staff were excellent and very knowledgeable about their cocktail list. On the second night we went to the first rooftop party of the season. Thankfully the weather was kind to us. We paid a little extra for VIP access which meant we got an incredible seafood platter included - had this been served in the UK it would easily have been £50 a head. Food and drinks were delicious. The marque of a great hotel is when they make you feel special and provide a memorable experience, without knowing the guest’s circumstances. The Peabody is without doubt, a great hotel and I’d put it alongside Claridge’s in London as one of my favourite hotel experiences.

The Peabody is alone at the best hotels in Memphis. It is most definitely worth any price you pay for the room. Our bed was extremely comfortable.
