Reviews for Hyatt Regency Mexico City

Service, location, food, everything top notch

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed two wonderful nights at the Hyatt. We couldn't get reservation at our original desired hotel until the end of our trip. When it came time to move to the other hotel, we didn't want to go. Because we were enjoying our stay so much at the Hyatt. Its location is perfect for a very relaxing stay. Next to the park, great food, and museums. The service in the club level was out of this world. I loved sitting there having a glass of wine and looking out.

Recommended, but maybe not for all

Overall I really enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt Regency Mexico City. It is close to many major tourist attractions and works well for business travelers, too. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and the staff were impeccably nice and professional. That said, this is not a hotel for sitting by the pool with a fruity drink. If you're looking for a resort experience, I'd look elsewhere, though that might be hard to find in the middle of a giant city. There's not a whole lot for young kids to do in this hotel, either, though it is not marketed as that sort of place. I will say the rooms are well-appointed and the ventilation is really, really good! We were two travelers with a touch of Montezuma's revenge. Even with no bathroom fan in sight, we smelled nary a whiff of anything unpleasant. Some invisible and silent system kicked in to change over the air in the bathroom very quickly. Quite impressive, Hyatt! The AC was also quiet, responsive, and easy to use. The water pressure is really intense and tough on sunburned skin. Careful if you're traveling with kids or the elderly. The views of Chapultepec and the city skyline are captivating and I spent more time in the room than I anticipated just admiring the view, especially at night. I was on floor 19, not a particularly high floor but high enough for a panoramic view. If your room doesn't face the park and you don't have club/lounge access, you are sadly SOL. There is no shared space where all guests can enjoy the view. Since I didn't have club access, I'm really glad my room faced the park. If you can't see the park view, console yourself with the architecture in the lobby. It's spectacular. The restaurant I tried (Rulfo) wasn't bad, but I had better for less out in the neighborhood. The market in the lobby is convenient and not too overpriced. My travel companion got sick the next day after eating one of the market salads for dinner. He should have known better than to eat any fresh vegetables, and I'm sure a local resident would have been fine eating the salad. But you've been warned.

Hyatt Regency is the Best Hotel in Polanco, CDMX

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I am an art historian and come to CDMX every year to tour private, VIP groups (small groups). I choose Hyatt Regency Hotel, Polanco due to its 1) open, airy feeling inside public spaces; 2) airy, spacious bedrooms; and 3) gym equipment. If you are claustrophobic and/or must exercise every day, this is the perfect hotel for you to stay at. And - a fourth characteristic of Hyatt Regency is that it is located in the best, green, non-chaotic area of Mexico City. The restaurant scene is dynamic and Lincoln Park at the center of Polanco is like being in the countryside. This is the hotel that my guests and I prefer in all of Mexico City because it is also centrally located with the best museum, cultural sites around it!

Above and beyond

Hyatt Regency staff went above and beyond to meet our needs. On my Birthday they even sent a bottle of Cava and desserts to the room!
