The Betsy - South Beach

This hotel is buzzing and very eclectic. From our arrival and first meeting with Concierge GEORGE we felt at home. As a short term stay the middle of a blizzard (minus the snow) on the beach front it has a relaxed feel. We were upgraded to a balcony garden room #139 … and found a few things that could be improved with it. #The Bed creaked at the slightest movement and sounded like workman in the building somewhere . We coped.. #The safe needed a new battery which was arranged very quickly. #The vanity sink drained very slowly but eventually did. An inspection of the drain indicated a clean out (with Draino) was needed and will hopefully be done soon. #The hot water took almost 5 mins to come thru the shower head but was ok once it did. #One of the bedside lamps didn’t work and after some investigation (changing globes etc) I found the plug had been bent out of shape (see photo) because the bed had been pushed hard up against the wall socket. A quick bit of straightening and all was working. #With the aforementioned blizzard conditions the A/C was was NOT used to HEAT so the room was chilly even after a few hours and the doona was very much needed. We got breakfast included as an offset for these issues and what a breakfast !! Eggs on day 1 pancakes on day 2 Almost too much for a starter to the day. Live Music every night was good … but made conversation a challenge … Staff were very friendly and eager to please. Overall a very enjoyable stop in our Round World Tour … and highly recommended to all.

From the moment we arrived, George, Fritz, and Angel were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and genuinely accommodating. They all went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of, always with the warmest attitude and great attention to detail. Nothing felt forced — just sincere hospitality and care throughout the entire experience. They truly made such a difference and left us feeling really appreciated. Dropped in to warm up (during the cold front) and grab a few drinks at the bar. Had a great time! The Betsy Ross Hotel is a gem of its own. The iconic look pulls you in and the atmosphere inside keeps you there! There was a live piano jazz performer in the lobby keeping the vibe very enjoyable. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. The bartenders were friendly and took the time to speak with us even when they were clearly busy. They told us about the awesome chef and told us to come to dinner so we made dinner reservations on our way out. When we came back for dinner our server Aleks was completely amazing. We told him to surprise us when we couldn’t make up our mind from all the delicious choices on the menu. He was very professional, very attentive and friendly, and most definitely patient with us during the entire dinner service. Aleks choices and recommendations were perfect, the steaks were cooked perfectly and everything was very delicious. To take it over the top, Aleks surprised us with a special dessert that tied the entire evening up perfectly.!!! Thank you to Aleks for making our anniversary a very special night! This was the perfect experience to celebrate our anniversary!

I had such an amazing experience at the bar. The food was delicious and I had the best service from Carmen. She was so personable, knowledgeable, and kind. I went by myself and she kept me company and was still very attentive to everyone around her. Thank you so much Carmen, I will definitely be back :)

We are returning customers & firstly would like to state we are lucky enough, now we have retired to travel a lot . What separates a good hotel from a great hotel is how they deal with an issue . On raising our issue with Hendrik the Hotel Manager he was fantastic at putting it right . The hotel has old school Hollywood glamour . If you are coming for a pool party don’t book in here. If you want the best cocktails in South beach , jazz music every night & attentive staff , get booking . The breakfasts are outstanding & special shout out to twinkling Shelia , great hostess. Would also like to thank Isabella for always being there to direct us & Juan & Fritz for help with bags . The art throughout the hotel is also brilliant, great Andy Sweet photography on display as well as other great pictures . We will be back!
