We stayed three nights in two different rooms. Our preference was the colonial rooms - one lift rather than a convoluted way to the Art Deco rooms -bigger brighter rooms and a view of the beach front Staff are good - Omar was the best concierge and Dave runs a mean bar Attractive well run hotel but we thought very expensive compared to other SB hotels Rooftop pool area is currently overlooked by a building site which means you have no privacy - this was not advised when we booked On the beach you get two beds - no umbrella no water unlike other beach facing hotels Considering what you pay for a room this is not acceptable Good hotel but not good value

The Betsy is a marriage of two adjacent hotels, joined by a third-floor bridge resembling a giant egg when viewed from the adjacent alley. There’s an Art Deco wing and a Colonial wing, and it took us a while to master the navigation, as each had its own lobby, pool, and rooftop deck. The rooftops were staffed intermittently; neither was a reliable venue for a drink. Probably the biggest drawback was that the common areas were often reserved for groups meeting at the hotel; we weren’t able to enjoy the library, conservatory, and rooftops as much as we would have liked.

Boucher Bros runs the beach concession for the Betsy Hotel. Natalie and Demetrios make the concession stellar! At the hotel for 5 nights meant we were on the beach for 4 - and what a glorious 4 days they have been. Natalie’s smiling face greets you at the 14th Street booth where she is pleasant, friendly, helpful and efficient. Whatever you need and whatever questions you may have are taken care of immediately and with a smile. You’re then handed off to Demetrios (a Captain) who is just as friendly and eager to please. We did upgrade from the beach chairs included in the resort fee to the beach bed ($100), but it was totally worth it. Demetrios makes up your “bed” quickly and with style (and extra towels!) and checks on you periodically throughout the day. If you opt for the chairs instead - not to worry - we saw him give the same friendly and excellent service to all. Where Natalie and Demetrios went above and beyond was when we mentioned that it was our 25th anniversary the next day. Out came the red carpet! We were greeted the next day by Natalie with a Happy Anniversary and a high five for making it 25 years. Demetrios was busy setting up our bed with a sweet display of towels in the shape of two swans that made a heart. Later in the day he arrived with a large container of fruit for us and a lovely anniversary card from him and Natalie! So sweet and totally unexpected. The Betsy Hotel knows what they’re doing by contracting with Boucher Bros. I hope that Boucher Bros knows what gems they have in Natalie and Demetrios and rewards them accordingly!

The Betsy it self is legendary. Beauty, culture, and arts. Too bad some of the workers don't take their job seriously. Front desk worker khadijah is so rude and unfriendly both on phone and in person. If I come back to visit I wish someone else could take care of my check in. Fritz the bellman deserves a metal!
