About the Hotel

There are some things that only South Beach can have. The Betsy - South Beach is one of them. This boutique hotel in Miami Beach lives up to its exclusive Ocean Drive address with 61 gorgeous rooms and suites. Heralded in the media - from Marie Claire to Condé Nast - The Betsy is a historic building that to this day maintains its original Georgian design amidst Art Deco surroundings. Beach-inspired and brilliant, the sophisticated interiors feature wooden shutters, chandeliers, and terrazzo flooring, all accented by relics from far-away lands. Miami Betsy Stay & F1 weekend!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 22 hours ago

We had an amazing experience at the Betsy for the F1 Miami Grand Prix weekend. Everyone was incredibly nice and made it easy to travel with an infant. They were super accommodating from breakfast to cocktails and beyond. The rooftop pool is top notch and Josh was an amazing host for us up there. Would recommend the Betsy and its history to anyone traveling to Miami! 15/10 rating!

Best pool service!

Had a fabulous stay and the staff was so kind and attentive. Josh made sure we were well taken care of poolside and made the best drinks! 🍹 We got the piña colada with the rum float 🥥! He also helped us with some local recommendations that did not disappoint :) Hope he’s working if you’re staying there!

Mostly good, but boy are those rooms small!

This was my third stay at The Betsy. The Betsy is actually 2 hotels connected by the Orb (or egg as I call it). The Betsy is colonial style on Ocean Drive north end of Lummus Park, and the old Carlton Hotel is located on Collins Ave. The Betsy is well-maintained, clean and is staffed by super friendly people. My stay was 5 days of warming up from a cold winter up north. We have returned here for the great location. Don't need a car; everything is walking distance. Insider hint: If you want a room larger than a glovebox, stay in a room labeled "suite" on their website. Non-suites are really small (see pics). I would stay one less night to make up the price difference to get the larger room. Also, I cannot stand the lack of a shower door in the bathroom. This European inspired design guarantees a cold draft and water all over your very VERY small bathroom. The weak water pressure from the shower does not combat the draft and I feel sorry for anyone with long hair. The amount of time to wash out shampoo must more than offset the savings from the overly effective water restrictor. Taxi ride from MIA was @ $60, Uber back was @ $50. Getting a beach chair and umbrella was super easy, just please tip those hard workers who set you up. LT's restaurant was not as good as I remember and certainly not worth the cost. Plenty of excellent restaurants around.

The Alley Restaurant

We recently stayed at the Betsy and ate dinner at the Alley. The pizza was amazing. We also had the banana dessert that was so good. The serge was over the top great. Our server was Gabrel. He was so helpful and knowledgeable. There was quite a downpour of rain when we stayed, and he got us back to our room through a staircase and across the Orb so we could stay dry. Wonderful service and great food. Highly recommend.

More than a hotel room

The Betsy Hotel is a treat on South Beach. The ambiance is welcoming and professional at the same time. It has more to offer than just rooms. Excellent restaurants; the Alley for a light dinner is great. Jazz every evening and a variety of other programs. Talk to Paul the concierge about an Art Deco walking tour.
