Our daughter recently celebrated her wedding at The Betsy in Southbeach. It was wonderful! The venue she wanted for her dream wedding was a place where her family and friends could spend a long weekend near a beach, and where guests could all stay in one place. The wedding was originally planned for Key Largo, but that was cancelled due to hurricane Irma. Miraculously, with just 3 weeks’ notice before the wedding, The Betsy was able to accommodate our 4 days of events and all our 125 guests as if the wedding had been planned there for a year. Everything was perfect! The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The rooms were beautiful! They moved my husband and me to the beautiful penthouse suite, which was great for the wedding party gathering and photos. The food from LT Steak and Seafood was superb from the yummy egg white omelets and the best home fries at breakfast to the spectacular wedding sit-down dinner. The welcome party was a fun, casual slider bar and drinks which was planned to be on the front roof top, but moved inside due to weather. The rehearsal dinner was a Spanish Paella with sangria! The wedding ceremony was perfect on the upper terrace overlooking the ocean with cocktails around the pool and the most delicious passed appetizers. The reception was in the atrium and was beautiful! The Sunday brunch was spectacular on the upper front terrace. AND they had to make everything GLUTEN FREE since the bride is celiac!! The bar at the entrance of the hotel with the huge living area proved to be the all-day and post event meeting place. The hotel manager, Ed, could not have been friendlier or more welcoming. He was always ready to help us and so lovely to work with. The owner, Jonathan Plutzik, is delightful and easy to talk to. He was often onsite in the lobby, sometimes with his son and 2 beautiful dogs, thereby providing a very human and personal touch to the hotel experience. We brought our service dog with us and he was welcomed like a VIP guest. We made friends with Yasser, waiter- extraordinaire, who seemed to be working 24 hrs a day. He made sure we were all take care of at breakfast and lunch over several days, and he then worked at the wedding reception. He even went the extra mile after the reception to secure our special vases. Christian and Wayne helped us move everything around and always with a very friendly and energetic manner. The catering directors, Nicole and Julie, were so easy to work with and made sure everything was perfect! Ramon in accounting was so helpful in answering our questions from the complex bills and in such a joll manner! EVERYONE loved The Betsy and all would pick to stay there next time in Miami, ourselves included. We all agree that the wedding weekend far exceeded our expectations and was even better than it would have been in the original spot in Key Largo! Thank you Betsy!!!

This place is very nice! It is a very well done upgraded older property. The room are very comfortable and the beds are great. The two pool areas offer plenty of places to get some sun. The bathrooms were clean and modern with really good products.

My boyfriend and I needed a getaway and we planned a one and a half day trip to Miami. We've stayed in Miami many times at other hotels which come off as standard. Checkin, sleep, checkout. The Betsy was booked through tablethotels as a last minute option. I cannot pat myself on the back on how amazing of a find! The hotel itself is southern charm meets modern meets Miami. Disclaimer: This review is from the last weekend in October. It's overdue and I've been kicking myself that I cannot remember more names nor written this sooner. But that's the type of hotel it is, you feel like you live there and it feels like home (and you want to meet everybody). First off, you're greeted by an amazing front desk staff (Yusely) who are very amicable and get all your needs in (including the map! you need the map!). We also called to see if maybe we can check in early which they were able to accommodate. Then our bellhop (very tall gentleman) helped us with our bags while giving us a tour so we don't get lost. Our room was very spacious and very clean. The bed is extremely comfortable and you won't want to leave the room. We stayed in the art deco wing and had a bookcase in our room which was cool to browse through. We also used the chair and towels by the beach which was a great option. They also "held" our chairs while we went out to lunch which was neat. It's contracted out but the company does a great job. The majority of our stay in Miami on the first day was exploring. However we went to all the areas in the hotel including the lobby lounge and the pooldeck. We got lost so many times but it was cool to find a new area and be like ohhh that's neat. Also the staff help you find your way. Although I got the hang of it with the two lefts, two rights, go up to the 3rd floor, u-turn, and you're there. Haha I have to do a shout-out for Gabriela and Ed. Amazing service and hospitality. Gabriela was our bartender on the pool deck. We chose to cancel our dinner reservations at Zuma and lounged by the pool with drinks and order food from LT. She's so sweet and made us feel at home. Ed we ran into on our way out. It really shows that he is a great leader with all our his staff trained not because they have to but because they want to make their guests happy. He was so polite. I realize now that he probably had a million times to do but was cordial and spoke to us while I was gushing about his staff. Can't say thank you enough. We will not stay at any other hotel in Miami. There isn't any pretentiousness that's usually associated with luxury hotels. It's a great room at a great value and centrally located and footsteps to the beach. Everybody from the front desk to the valet work together as a team. BOOK A ROOM AT THE BETSY!

The Betsy is elegant, warm, friendly and filled with excellent art. Its a cultural destination with the ultimate in relaxation. A great combination. Great rooms and beautiful decor throughout the hotel. The food is delicious, the rooftop pool is gorgeous and its a short walk across the street to the beach.. On top of it all there is an ongoing program of music and cultural presentations. Beauty and Brains.

Spent 4 nights at the hotel. We stayed in a Classic Suite, and judging by the size of the standard rooms,a suite would be the minimum size for 3 people. They were nicely appointed rooms and our bathroom was huge. Loved the photography exhibition on display during our time there. The rooftop pool area was great and happy hour very happy. The included Continental breakfast was pretty boring. We only bothered 2 mornings and ate out the other 2 mornings. And they could be quite slow for a couple of pastries and a juice. When you're heading out sightseeing you just want something quick. Staff on the whole were excellent, front desk particularly. There was a gentleman at concierge when we first arrived that was unhelpful and a little surly, but we discovered he was going on annual leave the next day, so maybe he was just in need of a break!! The lady at concierge the next day was great. Housekeeping was a little hit and miss on replacing used items, but that really wasn't an issue. The design of the hotel is lovely and it is in such a great location. I would definitely stay here again when in Miami.
