One of the fine boutique hotels, restaurant has a outdoor and indoor seating. Food was average. The restaurant is right on ocean drive and walking to the beach. Good burgers.Cannot comment on the hotel as was here only for a lunch experience.

Lots of places to have a late afternoon drink at South Beach, and frankly most of them resemble each other in their alcohol selection & seedy atmosphere. In the midst of all this lack of style the Betsy Hotel stands out for its class, ambience and drinks. We unfortunately couldn't stay here, but definitely enjoyed its happy hour with musical accompaniment. Worth dressing up for!

One of the best hotels in South Beach. Nice located.Close by to Art Deco Destrict attractions. Short walk to the beach. Also short distance to different places of nightlife. Friendly staff. For a relaxing moment:.. enjoy a drink at ...Happy Hour...on the terrasse in front of the hotel.

Staying at the Betsy in South Beach is always a signature experience in hospitality excellence- exceptional, understated but the over the top at once. Adding to fun in no small measure is the service provided by their relationship with Boucher Brothers who provide brilliant service all their own in the beach itself with cabanas, umbrellas, chairs and so much more. We were especially taken with the first class work of Demetrius and Natalie! Well done. I can best describe The Betsy as authentically friendly, unfailingly attentive, beautifully appointed without being stuffy - fun - their heart is always in the right place and their expectation for excellence and service is unmatched.

Firstly, the hotel location is perfect, very central and more or less right on the beach. The Betsy (colonial wing) is decorated tastefully and the rooms are extremely comfortable. The only thing letting it down is the service in some areas. It’s an expensive hotel so guests expect attention to detail to be standard not an afterthought. My main issue at the hotel was using the in-room dining. I used this 3 times. On the first two occasions they took so long to answer the phone instead of calling down the third time I actually ordered at the restaurant on my way back from the gym so I could avoid the wait and guaranteed debacle on the phone. On the first order the person could not understand an English accent to the degree somebody else had to call back and take the order. When the order came the eggs, toast, avocado and salmon were all on separate side plates even though they knew this was for one person. There was no salt and pepper or butter. When they brought the salt and pepper they forgot the butter again. Obviously, by the time that arrived the toast was stone cold. On the second occasion in-room dining didn’t answer the phone so the front desk took the order. When it arrived the cheeseburger without salad and parmesan fries that was ordered was replaced with a plain burger with salad and plain fries. All room service charges were removed from my bill at checkout after I explained all of the above. A refund was not offered prior to this. Separately, the front desk was not very helpful when I needed a taxi. I had called ahead to the concierge to book a cab but he advised this was not necessary because they can always simply hail one whenever I come down to the lobby. I heeded his advice and arrived in the lobby at 10:55 only to still be there at 11:15. In this time I asked, Lucas, on the front desk to call a cab because there were none on the street. He did so twice and neither of them came. Eventually a helpful staff member, Johnson, managed to get one passing by. Lucas is polite and friendly but somewhat lacking in actual customer service. At no point did he offer any other solutions or apologise for the inconvenience. Pretty normal responses for client-facing staff in a hotel of any star rating. The restaurant is excellent, both the food and the service. The gym is also well-equipped and big for a hotel gym. I don’t agree with the obligatory $35 per day resort fee that covers things like beach chairs (I didn’t use the beach), yoga (again, didn’t do), gym and wi-fi ($500 per night hotel charging an add-on for these is a joke), welcome beverage (missed that?) etc. All in all not a bad hotel but could definitely do with concentrating on substance over style.
