Reviews for The Betsy - South Beach

The Betsy Hotel is an amazing experience!

This hotel is nothing short of amazing! My sister and I were celebrating our birthdays, and we spent two nights celebrating with dinner in the dining room and drinks at The Piano Bar. One night there was a Grammy-winning jazz pianist, the second night a different pianist accompanied by a vocalist. We were seated close to the concierge (Art) who explained the history of the hotel to guests as well as booked theatre tickets, etc. the best concierge I have seen in years. I cannot wait to return to Miami, as this will be my place! Cheryl Marquis Washington DC

Great location. Some staff need to step up

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I stayed at The Betsy for several days before a cruise and again for a few days afterward. During my first visit, there was a convention taking place, and it felt like there were too many staff on duty, yet not all were being productive. While some employees worked very hard, others appeared disengaged, and there didn’t seem to be a strong sense of teamwork. For example, the staff managing the restaurant board outside were often chatting among themselves and paying little attention to arriving guests. It would be far more efficient if they were connected—perhaps via earpiece—to the bell staff, so they could alert them when guests arrive. On both of my arrivals, I had to locate the bell staff myself. At check-in during my first stay, Chris was handling both the front desk and phone inquiries simultaneously. While he was doing his best, it was clear he was stretched too thin, and I felt he couldn’t give full attention to either task. Additionally, some staff members did not come across as particularly welcoming—simple greetings like “good morning” were noticeably lacking. It seems there would be value in management taking a closer look at staff performance and engagement, as not everyone appeared to be contributing equally. That said, I want to give special recognition to George on reception and Sheila in the restaurant—both delivered excellent service and are true assets to the hotel. Overall, despite these issues, I would consider staying again due to the excellent location.
