Sleek, urbane, and innovative, Florida's Delano South Beach boasts an ultramodern design and enviable oceanfront locale. Setting out to create an experience, unmatched in luxury, service, and amenities, the esteemed Morgans Hotel Group designed an exceptional hotel that blurs the lines between trendy and traditional, classic and contemporary. The fitness center—open 24 hours a day—is available when you are, as are personal trainers and yoga instructors. Whatever your pleasure, it is clear from the start that Delano South Beach is one-of-a-kind.

Seeking an oasis of calm and tranquility after a long day exploring South Beach? Or indulge in a sumptuous spa treatment at Club Essentia—the premier destination for luxury spa treatments and groundbreaking anti-aging procedures located in the hotel's spacious Penthouse. Lounge beneath the shade of the oversized poolside umbrellas as delightful small bites are served courtesy of the Delano Beach Club, or retreat to Umi Sushi & Sake Bar for a dining experience that is slightly more traditional, but miles from typical. Old Hollywood has nothing on Whiskey Wednesdays/Speakeasy Nights at Rose Bar, a Prohibition-era inspired bar that is both alluring and enchanting, but do not forget the password, or risk missing the fun. During nights not steeped in the Roaring '20s guests may intensify the night at FDR at Delano, a newly constructed nightclub where the music and the clientele are stylish and sophisticated, like every other aspect of Delano South Beach.

I havenā€™t been at Delano since 5 years.Have some great memories of a great 5 stars hotel. Now-ITS JUST NOT THE SAME !The staff try to be nice ,but it does not help! Itā€™s super tired, dirty, literally dirty!Cheep! The food at the pool is tasteless. They kept the prices high ,but quality dramatically dropped.Nothing to do with luxury anymore ,Exept prices. Do not waist your money on.

It was a great choice for our overnight in Miami Beach. Room quiet, cold šŸ˜€and clean....musts for a comfortable 24hr stay. The vibe was cool as well. The pool area was lovely and the beach walk out the back door. Enjoyed very much.

Warm welcome at the door by bellman Fonzy, and direct delivery of our luggage to the room. Perfect service at the reception. Nice quiet room number 1417, comfortable bed and pillows. Bright interiors with beautiful furniture. Restaurant Leynia was very good, we had a great service by Daniel and many others, the chef is very talented. The food is delicious, breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in a nice setting. Ok, it is pricey...! The pool is heated which was great. Around the pool you can feel great vibes! The beach is gorgeous and perfect service by Solomon and Carlos. It is an intimate, perfect place to stay in Miami Beach. We love it. Canā€™t wait to go back!

The Delano has history, a reputation, many positive reviews, but in order to maintain a reputation, continual maintenance and upgrades are necessary. The staff are professional and attempt to be accommodating, but the property itself needs work. The first room I was assigned on the sixth floor had a dead cockroach legs up on the floor by the window, tiny ants crawling around on the window sill and a few small small flies similar to fruit flies, as well as hair on the floor. The signature apple on the wall in the room entry was rotten. The double beds are more like oversized single beds. What struck me the most was the overwhelming musty "basement smell" upon opening the door to the room. The stink was horrible. The cordless phone malfunctioned and kept disconnecting calls. There was a thick fuzzy coating of dust visible on the fire sprinkler, smoke detector and light bulbs. The air conditioning grate had a buildup of black residue. The windows were dirty on the outside. I had to open a window to take a picture of the view. Everything in the room is white or painted white, which apparently is supposed to be modern and trendy, but there are actually several shades of white now because certain surfaces are showing age and turning off white/yellowing. I was moved to an identical room on the eighth floor, given a $50 food and beverage credit and apologies after complaining. The second room had the same dust and musty smell issues, as well as a strand of body hair on the bedroom floor. Does anyone thoroughly vacuum these rooms? These particular issues are of highest concern to me. A room that is clean and smells fresh is the minimum I require. The bathroom is tiny and comparable to the lavatories on an airplane. The toilet tank was loose and I feared it would fall off, causing a flood, each time I pressed the handle to flush it. The $40 resort fee is subject to three additional fees/taxes which were not disclosed on my booking quote/detailed itinerary, bringing it closer to $45. The lobby is extremely dark, blinds on the ceiling to floor windows are closed 24 hours a day, it is like walking into a cave. Nobody could see the elevator buttons and I had to use the flashlight on my phone to select my floor. Everything is dark inside this hotel, even when it is sunny outside. The area immediately around the pool is pretty, but cramped and the grounds are not at all impressive. Patches of grass, low hanging trees, non-exotic potted plants taking up space on the wide steps leading off the back patio and a cart with meat roasting, which looked like it belonged on a side street in Tijuana, as opposed to a five star hotel. Randomly placed chairs and a huge chess set that I never saw anyone using. I've never paid so much for so little and I will never come back to this hotel. This was the only regret on my five night trip to Miami Beach and one night of my life I wish I could have back. I have stayed on this trip at three adjacent hotels and they were all much much more impressive. Walk into the lobbies and out onto the grounds of those hotels and then compare. It is obvious that the Delano is relying on its currently undeserved reputation to command high prices while delivering a miserable substandard experience. It's hard to admit and face facts when the hype and expectations are so high. Additionally, I stopped by the pool eating area with my $50 credit to have a light lunch with my family member. A can of cider, an iced tea, a quesadilla and one hot dog totalled $65, including a 20% service charge which was automatically applied. The hot dog was $17 and wasn't special in any way. It included ketchup, mustard and chopped onions on the side. Wow, premium!!! Hot dogs from a cart off the street in New York City are far superior. I already spoke to staff regarding my concerns and I don't feel satisfied. I won't stay here again as the other hotels I visited were far and away much more impressive by every measure. Please consider other options, there are so many wonderful MUCH more lively and luxurious hotels in Miami Beach. Incidentally, I stayed at the SLS as well, which is a member of the same hotel group and it was truly impressive. The exact opposite of everything I just wrote regarding the Delano.
